Not a wookie question....   Message List

Hey Guys;

First off, I've monitored this list for some time... Reading most of
the posts that come through.

I suppose I would be a decent Wookie... With a starting out height of
6"7" I could likely avoid the stilts. lol.

Anyway, I've added a few pics to the photos, under "not a wookie".

Some time this winter we're going to be starting on werewolf costumes
for a non-profit haunted house. Since I've been into costuming, oh,
forever, it's not a big change. But.. I'm trying to get some really
long fur for parts of the costumes. The pics illustrate pretty much
what I'm looking for... long fur coming off the collar, and, down the
back.

The suits that I've posted are from Germany, and, are part of a
festival over there. They are all real sheep or goat fur. Obviously,
I'm going to try and avoid the use of real fur if possible.

Is there a tutorial, or, do you guys have any advice as to how I
might be able to get the look I'm going for?

Thanks!

The shoulders are trimmed or rather shorter lengths of hair are used. When you are done you wear the suit while someone else brushes it out. Then you tweak it...

The original trilogy Chewie suits as well as many fan suits are hand tied hair into a net suit. This technique is explained on the Chewie Costuming Resources...
