A number of folks have recommended the training video "Cable Controlled Mechanical Mask." Special Effects Supply (www.fxsupply.com) has it on their site for $30 but when I ordered it they said that it has been on back order for over a year. It may be discontinued.
Luckily I found a place on eBay selling it for $45 (buy it now only, no auction) and they have four left. Here is the link:
