REGARDING YOUR OPINION ABOUT GINA'S ACTING ABILITY, YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN FEELING
THAT THIS WONDERFUL TALENT HAS BEEN GREATLY UNDERRATED AND SHOULD RECEIVE MORE
RECOGNITION FOR HER ABILITIES.

IN MY POSTINGS OVER TIME, ON THIS SITE AND OTHERS, I REACHED A VARIETY OF
CONCLUSIONS AS TO WHY THIS IS SO, INCLUDING AN OPINION THAT THERE WAS SOME
CONSPIRACY AFOOT HERE.

YOU KNOW HOW WOMEN, ESPECIALLY BLONDES WITH A GOOD-LOOKING BODY, HAVE BEEN
TREATED BY HOLLYWOOD OVER THE YEARS.

OF COURSE, SHE HAS HAD A DIFFICULT PERSONAL LIFE AS WELL.

HOWEVER, MY REVISED OPINION HAS TO DO WITH THE THOUGHT THAT GINA, AMONG OTHER
THINGS, IS A DEVOTED SINGLE MOTHER TO HER SON JACK, WHO JUST TURNED TEN YEARS
OLD, AND HAS BEEN RATHER MORE SELECTIVE ABOUT HER FILM ROLES AS OF LATE.

AS TO "BRAVE NEW GIRL" AND "THE PRACTICE", AS WELL AS YOUR OTHER CHOICES, I
THINK WE CAN SAY THAT GINA HAS INDEED A GREAT DEAL OF DRAMATIC RANGE AND TALENT
WHICH I HOPE OTHERS TAKE NOTICE OF AS SHE CONTINUES WITH HER CAREER.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT MUCH OF HER WORK HAS BEEN IN LESSER KNOWN, INDEPENDENT WORK
THAT DO NOT GET THE EXPOSURE THEY SHOULD.

REGARDING HER LATEST WORK, A NEW MOVIE CALLED "SIDEWAYS' IS DUE OUT IN THEATRES
IN LATE OCTOBER, FROM FOX SEARCHLIGHT PRODUCTIONS.

Hope you're all having a great Monday!

Having just joined this Yahoo group, I hope I'm following the rules
right and that it's okay to post from out of the blue:). I think
Virginia Madsen is a highly talented actress who does an impressive
job in whatever she does, even with such poorly made films
as "Highlander 2." I happened to catch "Brave New Girl" yesterday on
ABC Family and was surprised at how much I liked that movie.

True, "Brave New Girl" doesn't showcase her amazing range as an
actress (her performance in "Candyman" is truly impressive and vastly
underrated in the genre of horror where you rarely find a strong,
intelligent female character), but it was nice to see her play such a
warm and caring mother and it illustrates how she can salvage just
about any film. I remember how wonderfully evil she was in her guest
spot on "The Practice" a few years back and how much she contributed
to the "Frasier" storyline when she portrayed "Cassandra."

Is there any news on upcoming film or tv appearances? She is much too
good to be absent from the screen for long!
