George, I got the material from a local rubber supplier that I deal
with for any rubber or neoprene. This was an offcut of material for
floor treading.

However, as I say, although it's very close to the drawings (within
2mm), it is not the same as the tread showing in the ETI photograph.

I have found a local library holds ETIs right back to 1960 so I will
try and get some better photos next week. Then I'll track down a
rubber that is closer to the original.

The current tread material I have is about 1 metre wide. The cleats
are 9mm wide and the spaces 11mm. The cleat height is about 1mm and
the total thickness including cleat is 4mm.

I'll post more info if I can find material closer to the originals. I
note in the pictures you can see the tracking blocks are screwed in
through the tread.
