Well, the DVD of State of the Union came out today. It wasn't easy
for me to find at the Best Buy near where I work; it was on the rack
waiting to be put on the shelves. Still, I've got it, and I've got
some first impressions:
- the first episode on the DVD is the second episode that aired on
Showtime, while the second episode on the DVD is the first one from
Showtime. The other episodes are in their original order. Wonder why
the running order was flipped? I did note at the time that I
preferred the second episode over the first.
- the extras are enjoyable. There's several minutes worth of makeup
tests, with Tracey commenting on each one, frequently in character
- the blooper reel has an excellent breakdown take of the Andy Rooney
sketch
- one of the deleted scenes features a character who didn't make the
cut, an 18-year-old college student named Amber, who regrets leaving
her southern California home to go to college in Vermont.
