Just got an e-mail from Creation Entertainment. They are listing Kate
as a guest at their con in Dearborn, Michigan, October 13-14, 2001.
They list Kate as appearing Sunday only. Of course it's Creation so
don't expect cheap tickets. <G> For more information:
http://www.creationent.com/calendar_frame.html
Wolf Events is selling a compilation video of highlights of the recent
convention with Kate. Here's the link for more information:
http://www.sqnet.co.uk/wolfstore/
Once you "enter" the store, click on the video/CD link along the
left-hand side.
For people in the US remember you need the video in NTSC format. The
PAL format will not play on your VCRs. The price seems to be 12.99
pounds without shipping. Here's the URL to a site where you can
convert pounds to US dollars based on the exchange rate as of a
certain date. It may not be exactly what you will pay depending on the
exchange rate when you make your purchase but it should give you an
idea. . Looks like you'll also need a VISA or Mastercard.

Passing along this notice about KMAS, Kate's former fan club. You can
also find a link to the newsletter archives on the Totally Kate Links
page.
The current site for KMAS at http://members.aol.com/nowvoy/index.html
is going away, probably at the end of the month. For the last couple
of months the following redirect notice has been up:
--
The Kate Mulgrew Appreciation Society, Kate Mulgrew's Official Fan
Club, shut down in April 2000. This site in its current form is going
away...
The archive of Now Voyager, the fan club's newsletter, continues to
exist at its current, redesigned home. There have been some new
additions to the archive with this update.
The URL: http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Station/1965/
Added a partial transcript of Kate's Sunday appearance at Blackpool.
Hope to get a tape with the ending so I can complete it. Many Thanks
to Barbara for transcribing and to one of my regular transcribers for
putting it all together so all I had to do was put it on the page.
Real life has been keeping me rather busy so if you've sent pictures,
convention reports, etc. THANK YOU and I'll get them up as soon as
possible. And if you have anything to send, please do!

Here's a link to another article about Tim Hagan's plans to run for
Governor of Ohio. This one's from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. This is
a long link so it will probably break into two lines. I cut and paste
it into my browser's location bar in segments. Thanks to Debra for
this link.

Received the following update from Joe Motes of Vulkon about the
Orlando convention. Before anyone panics (believe me, I already did
for all of us <G>), yes Kate is still listed as attending.

I received the following e-mail from Slanted Fedora concering the
Releigh/Durham Slanted Fedora Convention scheduled for Sept. 28th
-30th.
Greetings...
The tragedy of last week has forced us into an unfortunate decision.
The Raleigh/Durham convention scheduled for Late September has been
postponed to January 25/26/27.
This decision was not entered into lightly. We have heard from many
fans and stars who urge me to "Not let the bastards win."
I have also heard from a great deal of fans who feel that this is an
inappropriate time to have a celebration. In the end, we looked at 3
points which directed us to this decision...
First, Midway airlines with their hub in Raleigh/Durham went out of
business with no notice. This placed many fans in an unenviable
position of buying tickets at last minute fares...what was originally
less than a $200 flight from Florida is now a $500 flight. Many fans
were being asked to pay more than they had originally budgeted.
Next the stars were at best less than enthusiastic about travel, and
at least one was unwilling to travel. All of them have families, and
most have ties to New York, with friends, business associates and
casual acquaintances connected to the tragedy. Their families would
be more comfortable letting the system get caught up before they
travel again. That is assuming that travel is even possible. The
air schedules are still being plagued with delays and cancellations
making any travel plans tenuous at best.
And Finally...We advertise our shows as Sci-fi Celebrations. In the
end, I feel that any celebration is inappropriate at this time. Let
us deal with our losses. It is a time for remembrance and mourning.
Let us remember our friends, and mourn our losses. The measure of
our nation, and my business will not be taken during the next month,
America will survive and prosper, and Slanted Fedora will survive and
also prosper. We will simply do this in an appropriate time...
Now, if you ordered tickets, you will be receiving a letter in the
mail soon. The letter will be an offer to keep the same tickets you
originally purchased for the new dates. We understand that there
will be people not able to change their plans. For those, complete
refunds will be offered.
Our guests are being contacted and contracted for the new dates. We
anticipate very limited (if any) changes. Keep watching our website
for details. As soon as we have everything in place, new flyers
will go out.
Thank you
Dave and Jackie Scott

the new documentary AMERICA LOVES... STAR TREK, which
examines how the shows and movies have affected pop culture,
politics, science, and the world at large. It includes
interviews with Majel Barrett Roddenberry, William Shatner,
Rick Berman, Kate Mulgrew, Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis,
Rick Berman, astronaut Dr. Mae Jameson, and NASA shuttle
pilot Rick Searfoss.

I have just gotten word from someone that has a team participating in
the Alzheimer's Memory Walk on Oct. 6th that Kate will not be
participating. So if you are in the area it's still a wonderful cause
and I'm sure will be a lot of fun but don't expect Kate to be there.
Sorry if this comes through twice. I haven't seen it on my end yet. I
think yahoo is burping messages tonight. :-)
Added article & photos from the Oct. 2001 issue of SFX
Magazine.
Many Thanks! to a Totally Kate contributor for the magazine.
