//"Tea at Five" starring Kate Mulgrew will return to Hartford at the
Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts' Belding Theater for eight
performances Nov. 16 to 21. John Tillinger again directs Matthew
Lombardo's one-person show about the late Katharine Hepburn, just as
he did when the show received its world premiere two years ago at
Hartford Stage. The gig is a "rental booking," says a Bushnell
spokesman and is not part of any Bushnell show series. The show is
part of a four-city tour that starts at Seattle Rep and continues to
Phoenix, Hartford and Boston's Shubert Theater where it will play Dec.
7 to 19. The show will then take a break and restart in the spring and
continue through 2005. The show is being produced by Lombardo.
Lombardo, as playwright, is working on a project for Elizabeth Ashley
based on a film looping session by Tallulah Bankhead for the movie
"Die, Die, My Darling." The new play, also to be staged by Tillinger,
is called "Looped." //
