Hi I'm Karin from Fairbanks AK. The Other has been one of my favorite books for
thirty years. I had a copy with me coming up the Alcan Hiway. I find something a
little different each time I read it and there are parts I like to read over and
over again. I like the whole nostalgia feel of it, the way it reminds me of
growing up and the long hot summers with no where you had to be. I feel like I
know the family personally. If anyone knows of the movie being shown on any
cable channel let me know, it is terribly hard to find on vhs or any other
format, even Netflix. The only time I saw it I made the mistake of taking my
first husband, who hadnt read the book. I think they assumed everyone that went
to it would have. Anyway he couldnt make heads or tails of it and kept up with
the'why are they..when are they..?" and I ended up missing half of it. I know
they found the twins much in the way they found Lukas Haas of Witness by asking
around at schools, I dont think they were in anything else and they were so
good, so was the grandma, anyway you want to talk about it drop me a line, I
love this book.
