"If you were at one of the political conventions and mingled with
Susan Sarandon, Tim Daly, Rosario Dawson and other stars at events
sponsored by the Creative Coalition, don't be surprised if you show up
in a new movie backed by the ubiquitous group. The non-profit
organization, which shuttled dozens of actors, actresses and musicians
to both Denver and St. Paul, is behind an upcoming documentary called
"PoliWood" exploring the involvement of celebrities with national
politics, including this year's presidential campaigns.
Director Barry Levinson ("Diner," "Wag the Dog") started lensing the
documentary earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival and
expects to yell "cut!" in November right after the election.
Also sharing producing credits on "PoliWood" are Creative Coalition
executive director Robin Bronk and the group's recently-named
co-president Daly, the well-known TV star of series such as "Private
Practice" and "Wings."
