Re: Family disagreement :-)

> Clutching at straws - perhaps there was an
earlier uncut version
> as there is a very obvious
cut in the film - we don't get to see how
> the
two heroes get down from the window :-)
>
> Colin

I don't think there was a cut made
there. The screenplay (and not even the final version)
indicates they jump just like Buttercup, which is what the
final film seems to show, too. They don't show them
actually landing in Fezzik's waiting arms, but I don't
think that's an obvious cut. I think it would have been
repetitive to show the fall of each one. They had already
shown Buttercup drifting through the air in slow-mo. To
show two more descents could have annoyed audiences.
And would they show Fezzik smiling after each catch?
That would be a little weird to see. And to show him
catching them but being less excited than he was to catch
Buttercup would've spoiled the mood.

I'm really
starting to sound like a dork, so I'll shut up
now.

C.V.

I've seen the movie about 1,000 times since "87" and I noticed for the first time a few months ago that the clouds are paintings and they never change....

Wonder if there was a 3 Musketeers movie or a pirate movie you saw at the same time? They jump in the book, too, and since the screenplay was done by the ...
