Mistakes in Princess Bride

I found this list and thought I would share it
here. Every movie has goofs in it....this movie had a
few funny ones.
------------
Continuity: The
Grandfather opens the book twice.

Continuity: The car
at the head of the bed moves.

Continuity: The
state of the Grandson's peanut butter and jelly
sandwich.

Revealing mistakes: Fezzik obviously being pulled up the
cliff by a wire.

Revealing mistakes: When
duelling, Inigo and the Man In Black sometimes have two
shadows.

Continuity: The dust on the Man In Black's clothes shifts
constantly throughout the duel with
Inigo.

Continuity: The Man In Black tosses his sword and it sticks
in the ground a fair distance away. In a subsequent
shot it is much closer.

Continuity: The rock
which blocks the way is gone after the Man In Black
beats Fezzik.

Continuity: The Man In Black's
sword suddenly sheaths itself when he steps towards
Vizzini.

Continuity: Running across the countryside with the Man In
Black, Buttercup's red tights disappear and reappear in
subsequent shots.

Continuity: Inigo's hairstyle after
being sobered by Fezzik.

Continuity: When Fezzik
and Inigo rescue Westley from the Machine, Westley
has a wound on his left arm. By the time they get to
Miracle Max's, the wound is gone.

Revealing
mistakes: When Fezzik leans Westley on the castle wall, the
wall moves.

Audio/visual unsynchronised: On the
castle wall, Inigo says "I'll say" without moving his
lips.

Continuity: A "He-Man" figure by the grandson's headboard is
standing and laying down in different
shots.

Revealing mistakes: Obvious stunt rider for Fezzik in the
final scene.

Continuity: In the battle of wits
scene, the knife that is near the three apples moves in
different shots.

Continuity: Buttercup's hair and
shadows on her face during the match of
wits.

Continuity: When Inigo meets Count Rugen for the first time,
it is just after Humperdinck and Buttercup's
wedding, which is at night. Yet a window behind Count
Rugen clearly shows it to be day.

Revealing
mistakes: When Fezzik is being suited up to climb the
Cliffs of Insanity the front of the boat gets caught on
a rock revealing that it is not made of
wood.

Crew or equipment visible: Clear landing pad in the
first fight scene when they jump off the rock. The
landing is elevated and one can see the rubber mat ripple
as they land. The pad can also be seen when Inigo
and Fezzik walk to the edge to look down at Westley
climbing up.

Crew or equipment visible: When
Westley is fighting the ROUS, you can see a techie by the
tree step in and out of the
picture.

Continuity: When Inigo looks down from the Cliffs of Insanity
to check on Westley's progress, at the foot of the
cliffs there is no trace of any ships or dock. They
cannot be obscured by the cliffs because waves are
clearly breaking at the shoreline. Also, the wave pattern
does not indicate a strong current.

Revealing
mistakes: When the ROUS falls down, it gets up
"human-style"; one can tell it is a human in a rat costume. It
also has human-like fingers that grab/wiggle when
fighting with Westley.

Continuity: During the
conversation just before Buttercup pushes the Man In Black
down the hillside, the wind (as indicated by her hair
blowing) changes drastically between shots.

Yes, I know, it was a famous scene from I think an Errol Flynn pirate film. Much of the Princess Bride is a very clever mickey taking of the good old Hollywood...

> Clutching at straws - perhaps there was an earlier uncut version
> as there is a very obvious cut in the film - we don't get to see how
> the ...

I've seen the movie about 1,000 times since "87" and I noticed for the first time a few months ago that the clouds are paintings and they never change....

>I don't think there was a cut made there. The screenplay (and not even the final version) indicates they jump just like >Buttercup, which is what the...

Wonder if there was a 3 Musketeers movie or a pirate movie you saw at the same time? They jump in the book, too, and since the screenplay was done by the ...
