Mr. D~
I was a blonde for sometime. I hated it because it cost me 70 a
month to keep. Natural redhead is the BEsTTE way to be to me. :D

Mama~
Email me if your stores are not involved. I don't think we advertise
it anymore. I believe it's word of mouth now.

ALWAYS~

Thanx to Don for the article-they are always interesting and Thanx
to Nicole for letting us know about the Radio Shack program: I doubt
either of our 2 places here are INTO the program though cause I have
never seen anything at either store to let us know about the
program. Think I'll go or call them tomarrow to see if they are
into it or are going to be a part of it---I may need to email you
afterall. I have one of those phones in a closet from one of my
kids:) And since I never through out stuff which someone can use...

hugs and kisses

oh my I forgot these totally but I must say I saw The Thorn once and
that was enough. Twisted is one song that I never could gravitate
to BTW. I suppose the only fair way to judge the music would be to
list all 200-300 songs by the most/least method but I am sure
Twisted would still end up at the bottom:)

luv ya

Mr. D~
I understand exactly what is being said here. I work in an
environment where cell phones are sold everyday and people come in
with their old phones wondering what to do with them. Until
recently, I had no choice but to tell them to use them as doorstops
(after all, what good is a non functional phone?) but since the
company I work for has started a new program, I can say differently.

Folks~ I hate to advertise, but if you are going to get a new phone
or just have an old phone you want to get rid of, take it to your
local RadioShack. We, as a company, actually send them to our repair
centers, they fix them, and then the phones are shipped to
organizations for battered women who just need an emergency phone,
free of cost to them. We have done this for almost a year now, and
it's a wonderful program. If your local RadioShack doesn't do this,
contact me (my email addy is my sn + @yahoo.com) and I'll do the work
for you.

Mr. D, thank you for posting that article. I never noticed the
amount of waste that they produce. This article was very
enlightening.

Is this song I have heard 2x 'when I was at my lowest' the last
couple of days. It is such a great song that Saturday night when it
started to play on the car radio as I was coming home, I just kept
driving by my house in order to finish listening to it. And then
again this morning--how strange. Or was it telling me something-
yes, I think so and now can say 'bring it on' cause I can handle it.

Any way, like Deb, I think the poll was horrible. So many hateful
folks out there-don't people have better things to do than vote at
the NYPOST?

Jane, listen to Here Comes The Rain, it'll make you feel so much
better.

DON, yep I now watch TV-or least every morn at 10 am I tune in
to 'The View' and heard this am about Meridith-she seems so pleased
as do the other girls.

Amber, welcome back kiddo and we'll talk soon...

Well, off now

hugs and kisses

I think that's awful...what's wrong with people??? I'm not by all
means a Mariah fan BUT she has written some of the most beautiful
songs. Is she an irritating Diva wannabe??? Yep...but she does a LOT
of great charity work for children. Come on, what are people doing?
Trying to give the girl another nervous breakdown? hahahaha

And, my Jennifer coming in 2nd??? There must've been a lot of jealous
women doing the voting. hehehehehe!

Jessica Simpson would have gotten my vote,
Deb :)))

Hey Everybody!

I had the task of dog and house sitting for mom this past weekend.
Let's just say, any idea I had of getting a dog...is now gone. :P I'm

'Thoroughly Modern Millie' Tops Tony Nominations
Mon May 6, 1:06 PM ET

  By Larry Fine

NEW YORK (Reuters) - For the second year in a row, a musical comedy
based on a hit movie led the nominations for U.S.
theater's most prestigious awards, as "Thoroughly Modern Millie"
received 11 Tony Award nominations on Monday.

"Thoroughly Modern Millie," adapted from the
1967 movie, followed on the rip-roaring success
of last year's smash, "The Producers," the
Mel Brooks creation based on his 1968 movie, which
grabbed 15 nominations on its way to a record
12 Tonys.

"Morning's at Seven," a comedy about small-
town America in 1922 that ran for only 44
performances when it first opened on Broadway
in 1939, led the nomination race for plays with
nine, including five for members of its
brilliant, ensemble cast.

Elizabeth Franz, Estelle Parsons and Frances
Sternhagen were all listed for best performance by a
featured actress in a play, while fellow cast
members William Biff McGuire and Stephen
Tobolowsky were nominated as featured actors.

"No big surprises," said Jed Bernstein,
president of the League of American Theaters and
Producers. "There were three big musicals
that got most of the nominations and a surfeit of plays
this season that make for an interesting
race."

Musicals corralled the most nominations, with
the revival of Stephen Sondheim's "Into the
Woods" garnering 10 to match the surprising
total collected by "Urinetown The Musical," a satire
that started in a small theater before moving
up to Broadway.

"Urinetown" gets its unusual name from a
complex plot about a terrible water shortage that leads to
the outlawing of private toilets and
mandatory use of pay-per-use amenities.

"Sweet Smell of Success," a musical based on
a 1957 film, followed the movie trend by matching
                           "Oklahoma!" with seven nominations. But
another spinoff from the film world, "The Graduate,"
with Kathleen Turner in the role of Mrs.
Robinson, failed to make the nominations list.

"Thoroughly Modern Millie," which examines the emergence of the modern
woman in the 1920s, was nominated for best musical
and best director and scored nominations in each of the musical
performing categories, with Sutton Foster up for best actress and
Gavin Creel nominated as best actor.

  STAR-STUDDED LINE-UPS

The best actor and actress in a play categories both provided star-
studded lineups for the awards, which will be presented by the
American Theater Wing in a nationally televised show on June 2 at
Radio City Music Hall.

Alan Bates was nominated for "Fortune's Fool," along with Billy Crudup
("Elephant Man"), Liam Neeson ("The Crucible"), Alan
Rickman ("Private Lives") and Jeffrey Wright ("Topdog/Underdog") in
the best actor category.

Best actress nominees were Kate Burton ("Hedda Gabler"), Lindsay
Duncan ("Private Lives"), Laura Linney ("The Crucible"),
Helen Mirren ("Dance of Death") and Mercedes Ruehl ("The Goat or Who
Is Sylvia?").

Burton, daughter of legendary actor Richard Burton, achieved a rare
double, as she was also nominated for best featured actress
for her role in "The Elephant Man," becoming only the third actress in
the 56 years of the Tonys to be nominated for two acting
  awards in the same season.

Nominees for best play were Edward Albee's "The Goat or Who Is
Sylvia?," "Fortune's Fool," Mike Poulton's adaptation of
Turgenev's 1848 play, "Metamorphoses" by Mary Zimmerman and the
Pulitzer Prize-winning "Topdog/Underdog" by Suzan-Lori
  Parks.

Broadway veteran John Cullum is up for best actor in a musical for his
performance in "Urinetown The Musical," in a category
that also includes John Lithgow ("Sweet Smell of Success"), John
McMartin ("Into the Woods") and Patrick Wilson
  ("Oklahoma"!).

Joining "Thoroughly Modern Millie" for consideration as best musical
were "Mamma Mia," based on the music of Abba, "Sweet
Smell of Success" and "Urinetown The Musical."

A lively battle is expected for the Best Special Theatrical Event
category, with "Bea Arthur on Broadway, Just Between Friends,"
"Elaine Stritch at Liberty," "Mostly Sondheim" (starring Barbara Cook)
and "Sexaholix...a love story" vying for the Tony.

Special Tony Awards (news - web sites) for Lifetime Achievement in the
Theater will be given to actress Julie Harris, who holds
the record for most Tonys, with five, and producer Robert Whitehead, a
four-time Tony winner.

You poor thing! I hate math too...or I used too...phisics and
chemistry also helped me to get a bad stomach problem....Now that I'm
in college and I read, read, read and I only see numbers when I go to
the bank and receive my salary I'm starting to want to have math
classes again. How old are you? When I was in high school I HATED
those subjects...and I also hated genetics, cause the were to many
numbers too.LOL! now I forgot almost evertyhing related to
math....well, I still can count and add and divide, you know....:-) Bt
I feel like I need to develop that part of my brain too.I grew up
enough and now I'm not afraid of numbers I guess.hehehehehe. You'll
see, one day you won't hate it that much....:-)

Next time, wear SLIP-ON shoes!

By the way, I would LOVE to read that article...is there any way you
could post it? Or at least the interesting parts? Penny

P.S. In the USA, it's just called "math"...not "maths"...I don't know
why.

Hey folk(s) I saw my primary school teacher today and she gave ma a
magazine article from 1978 (American Film Magazine) and bette is
quoted to say that she appeared as an extra in Goodbye, Columbus and
The Detective with frank Sinatra. Is this true???????? Even if it
isn't it was still fascinating for me to read this article about what
bette was like in the early stages of her career!!! also got some

Twisted

by Wardell Gray and Annie Ross
from the album "Bette Midler"

"How ya doin' girls? Long time, no see. Listen, I've been to the
doctor lately. Honey, I just spent forty dollars to hear that from
that guy?"

My analyst told me that I was right out of my head.
The way he described it he said,
"You'd be better off dead than alive."
I didn't listen to his jive.
I knew all along he was all wrong,
and I knew that he thought I was crazy,
but you know I'm not. Oh, no.

My analyst told me
that I was right out of my head.
He said I need treatment.
But I'm not that easily led.
He said I was the type that was most inclined
when out of his sight to be out of my mind.
And he thought I was nuts.
No more if's or and's or but's.
Oh, no.

They say as a child I appeared a little bit wild
with all my crazy ideas.
But I knew what was happenin',
I knew I was a genius.
What's so strange when you know that
you're a wizard at three?
I said, "Baby, this is meant for me, me, me, me."

I heard little children were supposed to sleep tight.
That's why I drank a fifth of vodka one night.
My parent's got frantic, didn't know what to do.
But I had saw some crazy things
before I came to.
Now, do you think I was crazy?
I may have been only three but I was swingin'.

They all laughed at A. Graham Bell,
they all laughed at Edison,
and also at Einstein.
So why should I feel sorry if they just
didn't understand the reasoning and the logic
that went on in my head.
I had a brain, it was insane.
So I just let them laugh at me
when I refused to ride on all those double-decker buses
all because there was no driver on the top.
Aaaaaaah.

"Did you ever hear a story like that in your life? Honey, that chick
is bananas. Do you hear? Bananas. Oh, waiter, bring me another banana
dacquari, would ya?"
Ba, ba, ba, ba!
"Oh, here she comes again."
Badada, badada, badada. Wo!

My analyst told me
that I was right out of my head.
But I said, "Doctor,
I think that it's you instead.
'Cause I got a thing that's so unique and new,
it proves that I got the last laugh on you.
'Cause instead of one head, ooh, I got two.
And you know two heads are better than one."

"Honey, she is twisted
