Thought I would drop a note about seeing the show opening Night this past
week.
Now I have been seeing Bette's shows since the 1970's (before I was even
born, how is that!!!) and No I don't think this is her best show, that said it's
pretty darn good.
I Love the Soph piece where we get some "background" on soph and having her
end the piece with "the Glory of Love" was wonderful.
All the musical numbers have Bette in maybe her best voice ever. "When a Man
Loves a Woman" is maybe EVEN better than in KMB if that is possible. Also the
way "Hello in There" is staged is wonderful.
The Delores Piece follows a familiar formula this time with her taking the
show to Vegas. Seems the general public still marvels at them wheelchairs and
what Bette does with them.
The weakest part of the show seemed to be the 3rd "Still got my health"
although weak only by Bette's high standards-I loved it but seemed to not grap
the
audience as Bette's patter always seem to.
The "Bette" store is marvelous! So many things with Bette on it!
