The DC Shorts Film Festival presents our third annual showcase of
short films from around the world, highlighting those from the
burgeoning DC film community. This year's festival will take place
September 14-21, 2006 at Landmark's E Street Cinema in downtown
Washington, DC.
DC Shorts is currently one of the fastest growing film festivals in
the country. Full guidelines about submitting films to the festival
can be found at our web site, http://www.dcshorts.com. If you do
submit a film, please include a note stating that you were personally
invited to submit.
All filmmakers whose films are selected are invited to attend the
festival, and receive housing, meals, and local transportation, as
well as invites to all screenings, parties, and city tours. All
screenings are followed by Q&A panels with the filmmakers.
SPECIAL FOR CANADIAN FILMMAKERS: Due to an agreement with the Canadian
Embassy to show canadian shorts, we will screen 12-24 films in
addition to our regular showcases. Please be sure to submit your film

AWARDS: DC Shorts will present cash awards and a handmade glass trophy to:
Best Woman Filmmaker
Best Local (DC Metro area) Filmmaker
Best First-time Filmmaker
Festival Director's Favorite (chosen by the director)
Filmmakers' Favorite (chosen by the attending filmmakers)
Audience Award Winners for each showcase (small trophy, no cash award)
Early-bird deadline (lower entry fees) is May 31, 2006. Regular
deadline is June 30, 2006.
