Hi!

Been a member of the group for a while and just wanted to share some
really GREAT news...

Feeling good today. Had another book signing Saturday for `Daydreams
& Nightmares' (ISBN: 1-4116-7924- 5), it went okay...was at the
Abilene Book and Music Festival and I was sponsored by a local
bookshop. Indeed, I'll be back again next month. This will be my
third book signing in Abilene in three months!

Saturday night when I got home, a package was waiting for me...not
terribly large, but important (for me). Remember the Edmonton
Theatre Fringe Festival and the Roguespeare Players? Remember my
work being featured with Don Nigro (the most published playwright in
America)?

They sent me the poster...and I got equal billing to Don Nigro! It
says: 'Tales of Death' by: Don Nigro and James Riley, Sr. That was
cool by itself, but the reviews were really good (4 suns out of five)
in the Edmonton Sun. "Cole Porter, the lurker, is the solo star in
the final bizarre piece simply titled Death. And more than a story
line, it's a profound unraveling of emotions and insights from an
aware, but unattached perspective following his violent death."

The director wrote to me and said that `many in the audience actually
reached for their hankies'...my God, I made them cry! He said that
someone who had seen the play even talked about it and mentioned me
by name on the radio there (in a very positive way). Can you believe
it? Wow!

That makes two cities (Abilene and Edmonton) where it seems
people 'get' me. Now all I have to do is translate that into a wider
audience. By the way, remember that you too can order your copy of
Daydreams & Nightmares online at: http://www.lulu.com/content/210331

As a new writer, I could really use your support out there...where-
ever you are. If you can't order your own copy, maybe you could ask
your local library to get a copy? Just take them the title, ISBN and
my name as the author. It's hard to spread the word when you're just
a new guy with a book, so I'd appreciate anything you can do, even if
it's just to forward this note to anyone or any group you think would
be interested in my 'Daydreams & Nightmares' a collection of poems
and dark, short stories.

Ego's not too big now, just happy at the results...and feeling a
little more like I really can write.

Hoping all is well with all of you and all of yours,

Yours,

James E. F. Riley, Sr.
