Hiya people!

Just a bit of a heads up.

If you are trying to register to the forum, please remember to use the name you
are known in The Balto League Yahoo Group. I am getting a lot of user
activation requests where the names are very questionable. If I have any doubt
of your username, your activation may be delayed or fully declined. If you have
any queries about if you should be registered or not, if you e-mail me with your
Yahoo Group name/Forum Username, I will activate you asap.

This measure is so we don't get any un-nessary people joining the board. Also I
ask all to read this because then you all know to e-mail me with your queries,
and as only registered yahoo members can read this post, I'll know you are all
genuine.

Thanks for your co-operation! And have fun!

Hiya all!

On the back end of thinking about Wolfy's Weekly, I have made a forum on the
website! This is gonna be the home of Wolfy's Weekly, as well as anything
else we can discuss on there. I thought I would make it because it would be
easier and quicker to maintain, as well as easier to use... also we can do a
lot more in phpBB than we can in Yahoo Groups!

Obviously it'd be good if the group kept open, also all the true admins of
The Balto League will be made instant moderators of the board. The only
thing they won't be able to do is ban me or delete anything to do with me.
They will have FULL ACCESS to everything else.

That DOES mean though that people have to register for it. If you can please
register your KNOWN NICKNAMES. The reason is I have to authorise EVERY
registration now, so we don't get trollers or spammers like in the IRC.

  http://www.thebaltoleague.com/phpbb2

That is the temp address for the board. If people can register ASAP so I can
get them authorised, it'd be very much appreciated. Thanks and chat soon
all!

Colton

P.S. It may take at least 24 hours for me to authorise your usernames. It is
because I get the authorisation through e-mail, and I check it every day, so
as soon as I get the mail, you're in basically.

Well most people are on LJ, so if there also isn't one going, I could also
put together a TBL LJ group for it. I am sure there is already one running
but if not, that also could be a possibility. I just thought of a forum 'cos
it's readily available on the website, just need it coding in. :)

That's a great idea. You can use a Twitter Account though. It might make it
easier to post rants and stuff.

Hey people!

I am having a brainwave and I want to get people's opinions on it. It'll only be
a temporary thing but it'll at least get some activity going.

I am thinking of adding to the radio/website (in the shape of a phpBB forum) a
"Wolfy's Weekly" part, which'll basically be maybe a discussion or a rant from
me, with opportunities to add your own comments, and even your own rantings.
It'll be a bitch to program in, and it'll take a while to do, but I thought it
might be a little addition to those that want to throw back, let some air off,

It's also a good opportunity to either get on radio (if you got a mic), or for
those people that can't access weekly chats. Just a thought, wanna get people's
opinions.

See ya in chat!

Well us three original "founders" as Yahoo used to call us, are still here, in
the back ground and making things work. We are still authorising new members and
keeping things running smoothly.

White puts it best though - I personally feel that I have talked about Balto to
the extent where there really isn't much else to discuss. That doesn't mean that
I have lost interest, far from it, but instead I have kinda stepped back a
little to discover new things to learn about as well. I spend the same amount of
time on the net but I have lots of other interests that are still pretty new to
me.

Oh and I am still buying Balto stuff on the net so I am not going to give up my
title any time soon!

participation wanes and enthusiasm is short. I think this is a very natural
process as the original founders/members get older. We started off as teenagers
still in high school, many of us, and now we've finished university courses and
are trying to gain our financial feet in the adult world and establish our
independence, which has happened in various degrees. This might not be such a
problem for older adults who have done this already and are well into the 9 to 5
routine, or younger members who started off with as much free time and youthful
ambition as we did, but unfortunately we're stuck in the middle of it all and I
think that's a big part of

of a non-TBL community to bring to the table to share with TBL any more. Over
the years a lot of good Balto websites have folded over and died, such as
Balto's Zodiac and my own site, The Three-Mile Marker. Others are still erected
but only very infrequently update. Now I've launched a very basic template which
expresses what I hope for the site to be, but even that has not been updated
since last summer. Why is this a problem? Because without external Balto fan
creations there's nothing for The Balto League club members TO talk about. This
is inevitably true in the case of TBL's official website, as well. I mean,
there's the trilogy, of course, but that's done and over with - what's needed is
a wider array of fan creations and community participation across the various
websites.

This is an interesting point you bring up, Goten, and it's a fair one, too.

First of all, I must say that we have absolutely no intention of letting The Balto League die. This club will not be going anywhere. The problem lately is that TBL has become somewhat, shall I say, symbolic in nature. Rather than an active community of contributing members, it's fallen into a lapse where participation wanes and enthusiasm is short. I think this is a very natural process as the original founders/members get older. We started off as teenagers still in high school, many of us, and now we've finished university courses and are trying to gain our financial feet in the adult world and establish our independence, which has happened in various degrees. Survival has to come first and foremost, after all.

The other problem, and one which is related IMO, is that there's not as much of a non-TBL community to bring to the table to share with TBL any more. Over the years a lot of good Balto websites have folded over and died, such as Balto's Zodiac and my own site, The Three-Mile Marker. Others are still erected but only very infrequently update. Hello people.

I don't know if anybody else has spotted, but over the past few months, the
activity going on around the league, both in the chat and in the posts, has been
very very minimal. There are a few people that are still active, and it's good
seeing them, but there are a lot of people who used to come along, but now...
well... don't.

I am not gonna bitch rant about everyone in here, this place has given me more
friends than I can dream of. But I am going to say this as bluntly as I can, I
am not gonna sit here and watch this group die. It's been going ten years so
far.

I know people have their lives to lead, don't get me wrong. But the problem with
that is people had lives to lead before, yet the chats still got full on a
Saturday night.

I don't want anyone to feel threatened or insulted by what I say. I don't mean
anyone any harm, but I just feel like this is slowly fading away and what I came
to in the beginning was fun. When will it be time for the good times to come
back?

I feel kinda bad being the one to stand up and say all this too, but somebody
had to.

What's going on?! o.o

Thanks it is nice the computer no longer shutsdown randomly and no 50 ads come
up every 5 seconds, it doesn't load slow and the Desktop appears now.
I had to fix it by going into SafeMode and load a norton security to delete all
the stuff.

For those of you that don't know, a new radio show is up on the website, with a
few tweaks and mods to the bios page.

The radio is hosted by Mike (FINALLY, someone else other than me doing it! XD)
and I did ask him to e-mail the group to announce it but I guess he forgot,
typical pup!

So it's up on the site for those that don't know, take a look before it goes
because I got a new episode in planning, and it involves an hour and a half
dance set from a furry DJ in the UK (the friend I tell you about). The set was
used in a recent rave, and before Mike bitches at me, I got his permission to
use it.

So go take a look people, and I'll see you all in chat on Saturday!

Sorry everyone I know I said I almost had Baltos Zodiac finished but I
have got a recent Trojan Horse and a Worm combined and it spread to all
three of my computers but luckily I uploaded lots of the Baltos Zodiac
files but I did lose my Other Balto Site Silver Silkas Balto Community
2000 and I lost all of my balto download files that took me weeks to
get a hold of so It did do alot of damage to my stuff and I am glad
though because I got some of Baltos Zodiac uploaded but It's not
finished yet and needs to be completed in order for people to visit it
otherwise it will get errors on pages and say they are not there so
please if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it the things
people can send me are anything balto related like photos or fanart I
am sorry this happened at such a bad time and the virus came from of
course LimeWire I will get Baltos Zodiac finished as soon as I can get
rid of this virus or get me my own computer Thanks Silver Silka

I have tried I sent her a meesage a year ago and she did not reply
and I read this old form on Here http://baltosource.timduru.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6572 This made me feel bad that it was dieing and also it is on
the web archive and I visit Baltos Zodiac on the webarchive all the time when I can but I don't think it's gonna be there for very long all sorts of pages are missing and the webarchive must have deleted the pages

Ohh yeah that old BZ I made it was junk cause I just learned HTML and that site was on freewebs and I deleted all my sites from there.

I have worked really hard to get Baltos Zodiac back and alive again lots of the Pages I had to remake myself I have spent 2 days trying to restore it and I have had sucess with it

I hope you will visit when it's done!!

Just out of interest did you talk to Snow Wolf regarding re-building
her website? I looked last time you had it online and to be honest,
aside from the name, it didn't have anything in common.

Hey peoples.

I dunno if this is a good thing or not, but I am putting TBL Radio on a temp hiatus at the moment. My external hard drive decided to corrupt itself and I lost ALL my music that I use. I hopefully am going to dig into a collection from a DJ friend over the next weekend (not a TBL DJ, a REAL furry DJ) and see if I can get some songs back. Sorry to those that have downloaded the first episode and was waiting for the next.
