Re: [terrencemalick] Malick books

Adrian and everyone:

I did a little quick research and found your *Movie Mutations* book at Amazon.
Wow--impressive! I'm guessing Malick and/or his films make an appearance in this
book?

I also see that your writing/editing partner Jonathan has written a book on
*Dead Man*, which I lovingly soaked up a few nights ago (second viewing).

So cool to see everyone is still out there, just waiting for the chance to get
talking again! Loyalty is not to be taken lightly....

Angela

Hi Angela and everyone -

No, I haven't yet finished my book - I figured I had another 20 years before
his next one, but happily he has sure proved me wrong there!!!! Rest
assured, though, my book is well along!! I wrapped up a few other book
projects in the interim, including one called MOVIE MUTATIONS (British Film
Institute) co-edited with Jonathan Rosenbaum that I'm rather proud of.

In the meantime, literature on Malick has exploded! There is the Wallflower
book of essays edited by Hannah Patterson - some great stuff in there.

Michel Chion has a book on THIN RED LINE coming out in the British Film
Institute Modern Classics series later this year. Chion is a sound & music
expert (and a composer) as well as a gifted film analyst - his book on EYES
WIDE SHUT in the same series was super.

There is also a third, academic volume from a University Press publisher I
have seen mention of, by James Morrison and another author, but I haven't
gotten my hands on it yet.

Happy reading everyone, and three cheers for Wes Studi! Carter, you can you
give us any clue about the script for the new film, have you read it yet??

all best, Adrian
