Just to let you know, and the rest of the members, hot off the press
comes news that Suanne Braun has agreed to appear at a STARGATE SG-1
convention in February 2002, in Sydney Australia.
In what amounted to a long-shot internet investigation to find a
contact for the actress had resulted in correspondence coming back
from her people, and a deal being negotiation for Suanne's first
convention appearance in the world, as well as a great mini-holiday
in Australia.
In a short time the website (www.bobw.com.au) should be updated with
this news. We are also about to get some photos and a bio from her
people as well.
I actually saw the SG1 episode 'Hathor' again a few days ago (and on
DVD so it was a brilliant copy) just to see one of Suanne's
performances again, and it was a brilliant episode, and she was in
many scenes of the episode playing both a visitor to the base and
Hathor herself. You also hear her speaking without the voice
enhanced 'ga'ould' effect.
If this news seems pre-emptive at all, it's just to show my
enthusiasm for this 'coup' and to be able to provide this opportunity
for Australian fans to meet Suanne, and also for Suanne to meet her
fans and to get to see Australia......

in South Africa. You've certainly encouraged me, so

Haven't heard back from the fax or the other options that I tried. At
this stage it's too late now for this convention, but the organisers
would definitely be interested in her as a future guest.
I don't even know if she would even be willing to do conventions, but
in having so much theatre credits to her resume, it will make her a
natural for the convention circuit. Even more than that, she gets to
see Sydney Australia and we are a very hospitable & appreciative
bunch.

for a local shopping centre chain. I wish I had more news and info

Suanne Braun has a new man in her life - and she was
wooed and won by cellphone and the Internet.
After weeks of heating up the airwaves with their
romance, Suanne and her new love, London-based
industrial psychologist Christopher Garner, met for
the first time last Friday, and things have been
really sizzling since.
Or so it seemed at a party at the Theatre on the Bay
on Wednesday to celebrate the 80th birthday of veteran
actor Rex Garner, who is Christopher's father.
Rex has lived in London for the past year, but he's in
Cape Town repeating his acclaimed performance of
Visiting Mr Green at the Theatre on the Bay.
'We plan to meet in all the world's beautiful places'
Suanne, who sings with a group called Breakfast
Included when she's not acting, is friendly with his
daughter, Geraldine, who introduced her to Christopher
via cellphone two months ago.
"When people mention their brothers, you think,
'Yeeuugh'," said a sparkling Suanne, in a short,
tight, backless white dress.
But after a promising chat on the cellphone, they
began an email correspondence that turned into a
fully-fledged Internet affair. Suanne is following him
to London at the end of next week. And then?
"We plan to meet in all the world's beautiful places,"
said Christopher, and that includes Los Angeles, where
Suanne is going to be MC at a charity golf day hosted
by Kevin Costner, Mel Gibson and Arnold
Schwarzenegger.

I've been begging friends back in South Africa to send me old
magazines with pictures of Suanne Braun. I hope to get someone 2 do
that 4 me. She's been on so many magazine covers. If you've searched
on the internet 4 info on "Suanne Braun", U may have come across a
article from www.sarie.com, this is a Afrikaans language magazine in
SA, it's something like Cosmo. I emailed them to get the actual
photo's. I was prepared to pay 4 them, but the idiots didn't have the
decency to email me back after telling me how much it would cost.
So 4 the moment we are very much limited 2 the photo's of Suanne
Braun on the website. These are ALL from Stargate SG-1, so I don't
believe she is at her best with the weird Hathor hairstyle. You'll
see a cute (but not good quality) photo of her with her hair all
relaxed in the upper right corner of the website. I have some old
photo's of her hidden in a envelope back home in Uitenhage, South
Africa. I should get my mom to send them, but it's kind of
embarrassing. As a teenager I collected some photo's of women like
Suanne. I did some drawings of her, and I'll try to get these scanned
in as well, I think my drawings were pretty good.
