This group is dedicated to a brilliant musician and writer:Stephen Trask. Not only did Stephen play Skzp in both stage and film of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, but he also wrote all the music and lyrics. We all know the infamous story of how Stephen and John Cameron Mitchell met so I'll skip that and give you a little more personal info! He was born 38 years ago in New London,Connecticut. He started taking piano lessons as a child, but stopped practising after being force to practice I Will Survive, and other pop songs. Later on in high school he started taking lessons once again, this time from a man who taught him lounge songs and had him perform his recitals in bars. It was also in high school where he joined a modern dance troupe called THE CORNERSTORE DANCE COMPANY. After moving to New York and forming the band CHEATER, which he says "was part of the queer punk movement", he was hired at Sqeezebox, a trendy drag club, to be the music director. This gave Stephen and John a platform in which to catapult Hedwig for the first time. More recently he has moved back to New Haven and bought a house (and dog) with his boyfriend Michael. Stephen renovated the "dump" into a one bedroom house and did all of the architectural and interior design. At the moment he is in the middle of building a recording studio in his backyard. Also he has been hired by a record company as a lyricist. With Stephen expressing interest in more acting, and considering his overflowing well of creativity, I expect we should see and hear much more of Stephen in the future!
