Thunder thighs and the south effect

Miss Thunder Thighs, child woman, Chandni, hawa hawai , some of the
nicknames of the talented actress Sridevi who dethroned the leading
stars of the 80s like Rekha and Hema Malini. She started out in the `
apsara' mode of the southern banners. She popularized loose shirts and
t-shirts worn on skintight jeans or trousers and pranced around in
outrageous frilly dresses as Miss Hawa Hawai. Her trademark white
salwar-kameez post 'Chandni' became fashionable. Her wet 'n' wild
dance number in blue chiffon sari from the film 'Mr. India' was the
mother of all rain songs.

P.S. Hows Malini Iyer doing guys? Is it still on? Heard it wasnt?! :(




MODERATOR: Although it was a pleasure to see Sridevi after her last film, I'm in
a way glad the show is over. It was just spinning out of control with a bad
script and bad supporting cast. Currently, re-runs of of Malini Iyer (aka The
Best of Malini Iyer) runs on Sahara One on Mondays, 11pm IST. On Saturdays, I
believe they're showing a re-run of the entire series. I have recorded almost
all the shows - I think I missed 1 or 2 when I was out of town - and its in 8
VHS tapes. For true Sridevi fans, I'll try and figure out how to make it reach
you guys!
