"I knew Sri before Boney and she got married. From the day they got
married, I've always supported them and accepted her as my
sister-in-law. I've gotten along with her since day one.
Our parents took some time to adjust initially, but they are very fond
of her. She too is very comfortable with the whole family.
"A lot of problems had occurred previously, when Boney was still
married to Mona. But I've known both of them (Mona and Sridevi), and
they are very different people. What didn't work out, didn't work out,
and I think they are all happier people today.
Sri is a temperamental introvert. I've never worked with her, but Anil
has, so their equation is very different. But I know that it's true
that she comes alive when the camera comes on.
She looks visibly unapproachable when the camera goes off. She's a
very quiet, reserved person. She doesn't argue with anyone. In fact, I
think I've never even seen her argue with Boney!
"I do crack jokes with her, but Sri and I don't interact on a daily
basis. The four of us — Boney, Sri, Maheep and I — go out and have
dinner quite often. Anil and Sunita don't come as frequently because
Anil prefers to sit at home after work.
"One of Sri's most admirable qualities is that there's something very
ordinary about her. If you walk into their home, you will see her
mostly working in the kitchen, supervising things. This lady was a
superstar. And she hasn't let stardom affect her personal life at all."
