I never land up anywhere accidentally : Today, youngsters want
instant money. For five years I didn't make any money and had to
borrow from my dad. In those days films were considered filmi and I
thought to myself that if I could bring a 20 per cent change it would
change many things. And I told myself that I had to make it as it was
a do or die situation. I wasn't trained for anything and had nothing
to fall back upon. Once I made up my mind I started getting work fast
â€" I did films like Baaghi and Lootere and designed for stars like
Sunny Deol and Shilpa Shetty. Then I met Sridevi. The first costume I
designed for her was for Jagadeku Veerudu Atiloka Sundari , a Telugu
movie. That, of course, was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
Today I am credited with transforming many heroines like Karisma
Kapoor,Kareena Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar.

My muse, Sridevi : I love Sridevi â€" she's a true star. I have learnt
so much from her â€" she knows all the tricks on looking slim on screen
and has taught me little things like how not having a lining on a
blouse makes you look slimmer. In fact I've made lots of friends in
the industry, like Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Kareena and Raveena
Tandon.
