their way behind closed doors to expose the surreal, tragi-comical

Felix is transported to Arabia by a magic carpet. He trades the carpet

•INSIDE THE WHITE SLAVE TRAFFIC [excerpt] (1913),
Early, controversial exploitation flick, part melodrama, part
docudrama, set around the 'red light' districts of several U.S. cities,
tells the story of a young woman lured into prostitution by a 'white
slaver' after having been rejected by her family. This surviving
version runs nearly half the original length, the most confronting
(presumably 'actuality') footage having been excised either by censors
