Research Intern Program
Gigdirectory.net provides private arts and medi employment research
services for its members. The Gigdirectory Research Intern Program
provides help for those less fortunate in the industry to accesss
these services.

What is the Gigdirectory.net Intern Program?
This is where interns each spend about 10 minutes a day contacting
companies and surfing arts, entertainment, and media jobs and posting
the latest paid jobs and opportunities like grants and exposure calls
on Gigdirectory.net for their fellow Gigdirectory.net commmunity
members.

Who can be a Gigdirectory.net Research Intern?
Anybody who has at least 2 years actual experience in the arts,
entertainment, and media industries. A resume with said experience
must be submitted and reviewed before being accepted into the program.
We cannot accept absolute beginners or students as the research
requires experience so you know what you are researching. Plus we can
only recommend experienced people to employers offering paid work.

Can I choose what companies and sites to surf?
Yes; simply include the sites and companies you want to surf and
contact in your application. Minimum 6 companies and 2 resource sites
or mailing lists. If you don't know what companies and sites to surf,
do a little research first and find out what companies are in your
local phone area that you would like to work for. Participation in
this program is a great way to develop a relationship with your
favorite company and get to know when they are hiring.

How do I apply to be a Gigdirectory.net Research Intern?
#1 First do a little research and list the names and contacts of 6
arts, media, or entertianment companies are in your local phone area
that you would like to work for, and 2 arts and media employment sites
or mailing lists. Companies must be industry related.
#2 Then put in the subject headin of your email: your job title and
industry and location.
#3 Lists your companies and sites at the top with you resume and email
them to interns@...

Note: No attachments, put your companies, sites, and resume in plain
text in the body of the email. NO ATTACTMENTS: ALL EMAILS WITH
ATTACHMENTS WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT BEING READ. WE ARE VERY VIRUS
PARANOID.
Then what?
We will review your resume and companies and sites and then ask you
for a confirmaiton. Once we have received confirmation that you want
to be an active participant then we issue with a full gigdirectory.net
members account and send you an info and instructions pack in the body
of the email. Please note that your particpation will be monitored and
the condition of your free gigdirectory.net membership is your active
participation in the program.
