(Sunday,April, 6th, 7pm) "INTOLERANCE" (1916) Directed by D.W.
Griffith. This 16mm print comes from Griffith's personal copy. The
fall of Babylon, the passion of Christ, the massacre of the French
Hugonauts and a modern day tale of CAPITALISM VS. LABOUR are
interwoven into a massivie film fusion. Music Score created by Fraser
Mcdonald. A very great experience!
(Sunday, April, 13th, 7pm) "PHANTOM OF THE OPERA" (1926) Directed by
Rupert Julian. Starring: LON CHANEY. Music score created by Reg
Hartt. 'Conventially people view the Lon Chaney character [the
Phantom] as the monster...I see the girl as the monster. The monster
is who he is through accident of birth, that gave him a face so
hideous, his mother made him wear a mask. The girl is a stupid little
thing who spurns her lover like a whore for the gifts of the Phantom
but, when she sees the face behind the mask says, 'Goodbye and I'm
keeping the money'. That is the story of damn near us all. That is
how I approached it with music"-Reg Hartt /"This is THE PHANTOM OF THE

CARTOONS" In 1979, BOB CLAMPETT, 'AWARD WINNING ANIMATION ARTIST',
ACCEPTED REG HARTT'S INVITATION TO COME TO TORONTO AND SHARE WHAT HE
LEARNED OVER HIS YEARS WITH YOUNG TORONTO ARTISTS ( The epic event
was attended by people from across Canada & around the world!)! It
was the first and only time that Clampett met the kind of reception
that a Van Gogh would recieve. He was so impressed, he turned Reg
Hartt on to his confreres FRIZ FRELING,TEX AVERY,CHUCK JONES and more
(Reg's got pictures and articles to prove it...the MAN is no
slouch,Folks!). This three hour presentation offers rare uncut 16 mm

Starring JAQUES TATI. Tati got an Academy Award for this one.16mm
color. Mr. Hulot disrupts the life of his businessman brother-in-law
to the delight of his nephew.
