There was a Merriam Pack System with markings for the 14th US on eBay
recently along with the original "support sticks" used with it.

The number for the auction was 2271131891 .

How were these "sticks" used What is the proper term for them?

Can any one point me in the right direction regarding documentation for this
system?

I understand that it was field tested by the Army after 1900.

What do you guys know about this one?
