I am happy to report that the Website, "The Life and Writings of Dr.
José Rizal" has a new entry in its "Writings" section.
It is the complete existing letters exchanged between Dr. Rizal and
his family between 1876 when Rizal left for Europe and 1896 on the
eve of his execution at Fort Santiago.
Dr. José Rizal is the national hero of the Philippines whose death by
exicution by the Spanish in 1896 was a major factor in the revolt of
the Philippino People first under Andres Bonifacio and then General
Emilio Aguinaldo. This in turn played out in the Spanish American
War and it's subsequent war between the Filipino people and the
United States.
These letters are in English translation. To my knowledge it is the
only Web Site that has this material.
