I am pleased to report that I am in the final stages of development
of a Web Page devoted to the life and writings of Dr. José Rizal,
national hero of the Philippines.
http://www.members.tripod.com/rizalslifewritings/index.htm
I would welcome your comments prior to submission to the various Web
Search Engines.
I would also appreciate any information or ideas regarding ways to
get the information out to those teachers who lead students in the
required Rizal course.
My purpose is to be a resource for students who may have access to a
school computer but who do not attend a school with a rich library. I
assume that for some, a term paper on Dr. Rizal may be among their
first. I hope to provide as much primary source material as it is
possible to put out.
Let me add that this will be a "work in progress" for some time to
come. I hope to devote much of my life in my retirement years to its
progress. l do not have, for instance the work, El Filibustrismo (or
Derbyshire's Reign of Greed), or The Indolence of the Filipino, or
the letters exchanged between Rizal and the Reformers or his diary.
Just be assured that I will devote energy to it as I have time now
and more time in the future.
THE "MIRROR" SITE WILL BE THE RP-RIZAL YAHOO! GROUP.
Thiswill be the place as a bulletin board discussion postings. The
site can be found as follows:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RP-Rizal/
J - O - I - N B - O - T - H !
I would also like to start looking eventually for a "sponsor" so that
when I am unable to continue as Web Master (due to health or some
other concern), I can turn it over to a responsible organization
whose continuance is assured. An educational institution or some
fraternal organization like the Knights of Rizal might be
possibilities. Any thoughts you have would be welcomed.
Thank you for any help you can give.
