Neal Adams is without question one of the most influential comics
artists ever. Along with guys like Eisner, Kirby, Kurtzman, and
Barks; Adams is one of those guys who transformed the look of the
comic book. They looked one way before he showed up, and they looked
another way afterwards.
Sadly, Adams does all too little comics work anymore and even this
volume is a collection of somewhat revised work from earlier decades.
But it's a beauty. For those of us who loved the Universal Big Three
(Frankenstein's Creature, Dracula, and Wolfman) this book is a great
variation on that classic theme. It's filled with typically energetic
and well crafted Adams artwork and his versions of the classic
monsters is logical and valid.
Here's a link to the Vanguard site where there is more about this
volume:

This site doesn't mention the softcover edition (or at least I didn't
find it) but the price was 12 or 13 bucks or so. I thought the
hardcover was a bit overpriced, but the softcover is a big (magazine
size) square bound package and very handsome.
