Has anyone noticed in recent years that everything Halloween-related
is now available only in cutesy form? Decorations and advertising
NEVER show anything as being scary nowadays. Whenever I see
traditional Halloween icons (Frankenstein's Monster, Wolfman, Mummy,
Dracula, spiders, bats, etc.), as window decals, door hangers or in
advertsiing for the seasonal ads, they always drawn loveable and cute
looking.

When we were all younger, remember how fun it was to put up the
decorations for Halloween? The gruesome and scary cutouts of the
Phantom of the Opera, skeletons, ghosts and such were all cool, but
creepy, being basically stylized reproductions of the photos we saw
in Famous Monsters. What is the deal with corporate mind think
today? "Don't want to frighten any kids and get sued by their angry
parents." WTF!?!?!?

Halloween isn't scary anymore! All the classic baddies are now just
clones of Count Chocula and Frankenberry. It's nauseating cutey
overkill. There oughta be a law. *SIGH*

Disgusted,
-J

I still vividly remember the day we got our first color TV. The first show we watched (as a family of course since we only had the one set...those primitive...

Don't feel bad Dean. I'm only 37, and I feel like an Old Fart when I talk to just about anyone under the age of 30. I think a big part of the problem is that...
