Hi,
I worked in Grease 2 as an extra. I was the manager in the bowling
alley scene. I worked from 12-28-81 until the scene was completed on
1-6-82. The young actors and dancers were very nice to be with. Pat
(ricia) Birch was very nice. At one time John Houseman of Paper Chase
came by to chat with her. She had been a choreographer and I believe
this was her first directing project.
Lorna Luft and Michelle and Leaf Green and Adrian and Maxwell treated
me and everyone else with great courtesy. I was 43 at the time. Some
of the extras were in their 70s and others in their teens. Those of
us who were older were referred to as the "over 25s." There is one
guy in one of the dance scenes whose name is Chuck. He later did A
Chorus Line, the Movie. While dancing he injured his back. He
insisted on completing the dance which required some jumps and spins.
He was superb then when they had the action on film he allowed them
to send him to the doctor.
I am glad the movie has found favor with some fans. I am sure you
know the movie came out the exact same day as ET, The
Extraterrestrial. I went to the theatre on Hollywood Blvd. Near
Highland where Grease 2 was first shown. The theatre was almost
empty. Later I saw ET and I never cared for it, but I always liked
Grease 2 even though it seems to be mostly undiscovered.
One last remembrance, between 12-29-81 and 1-6-82 I wore the same
sweat shirt with the logo on it. They had two shirts for me to start
with and they were going to launder one each night and replace the
dirty with the clean. When they laundered the first shirt the logo
came off and they did not have any spare logos so I had to keep
wearing the same smelly shirt day after day.
I do have a website at http://www.myhollywoodstar.com with some movie
info.
Good luck with your Group.
