You know, several years ago, I drove the bidding up to
$100 for a set of the Batman 8mm films. I lost, and
immediately after the auction, I got an e-mail that
said "F--- OFF, Loser!" Weird experience! Maybe it was
your auction! Seems to me the e-mail was from some guy
@ stainedglasstheater.com.
Recently, I saw a British guy selling an 8mm film of
an
animated Batman. The box had a colorful cartoon cover,
but I thought it probably was a 40's serial
adaptation.
I wrote to the seller, and he assured me it was
animated. The item was sealed and unwatched,
however...so unless it specifically said "animated" or
"cartoon" somewhere on the box...I still think it was
probably a serial adaptation.
You know what else I like better on 8mm silent? W.C.
Fields "The Pharmacist." My introduction to the short
was the silent, captioned 8mm version. Later, I saw
the regular version with sound, and didn't like it as
much.
