Grand Lake Theater!

Bay Area Film Events presents CREATURE FEATURES LIVE! A recreation of the
classic television series, which aired on KTVU Channel 2 in the 1970s and 80s.
Returning for horror host duty will be original host John Stanley. Presented in
all its ghoulish gory at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland.

We start off the festivities with "Family Friendly Night" on October 28. Join us
for an amazingly fun double-bill of SON OF GODZILLA and FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE
WOLFMAN.

had CF clips between innings and after the game everyone with the CF/Giants
ticket got to go down on the field, meet Creature Features host John Stanley and

the Living Dead on the giant scoreboard screen. Big hit and the Giants want to
do it again next year.

We have two shows coming up in the next two months. The first of which is a
Beatles Weekend at the Del Mar Theater in Santa Cruz on Sept. 26-27.

September 26, 2009 – Join Bay Area Film Events at the Del Mar Theater in Santa
Cruz as we usher in a new era of Beatles music with a two-day show of films,
live music and more.

On September 9, The Beatles ever-popular catalog of songs will be re-released in
new, re-mastered CDs and music downloads in conjunction with EA Entertainment's
new Beatles Rockband video game, bringing the Fab Four to a whole new generation
of music fans.

Bay Area Film Events is right on the heels of the revolution with two exciting
Beatles matinees at the historic Del Mar Theater in Santa Cruz.

On Saturday September 26 at 1pm, BAFE presents the film "Imagine John Lennon"
which follows the life and music of arguably the most popular Beatle. Also on
Saturday, Drew Harrison of The Sun Kings will perform a live musical tribute to
Lennon that is not to be missed!

On Sunday September 27 at 1pm, BAFE shows the classic Beatles film "A Hard Day's
Night", a fictional account of The Beatles many adventures on the road. Peter
LoMenzo follows with a live musical tribute to Paul McCartney, tracing his
Beatles music and solo works!

Both days will feature prizes, give-aways, merchandise and a few surprises.

About the Del Mar Theatre

Opened on August 14, 1936 with CHINA CLIPPER, the Del Mar Theater has served the
college town of Santa Cruz, California for over 70 years.

After years of struggling through dollar nights and intermittent attendance, the
Del Mar was sold in 1999 and closed.

After an extensive renovation and restoration, the Del Mar reopened in February
of 2002. The art-deco theater reopened with a bang, with more than 1,000 people
coming to see MONSTER'S BALL, BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF and DARK BLUE WORLD.

Stepping into the theater's grand auditorium, audiences see gilded, 10-foot-tall
princesses on either side of a screen rising halfway up a 40-foot wall.

support independent cinema, and have fun.  The Festival runs from July 23 – Aug.
10 at multiple venues. We need volunteers at the following venues this year: The
Castro Theater in San Francisco, Roda Theater in Berkeley, CineArts in Palo Alto
and other various event venues in San Francisco. Volunteer duties include
Theater operations, press office support, and event support.

Again, you don't have to have experience.  Just a desire to work on a film that
will make a difference.  We will train you.

Filmmaking for us is a dedicated life passion.  We want you to feel the same if

We go in spurts.  We have other lives as well.  But when we go, we go fast and
you have to be ready.  This has to be a priority in your life.  Otherwise, it
doesn't work.

My name is Ed and my job is to build our next team.  We have a great number of
shoots planned so there is plenty of hard work for everyone who wants to be
involved.  Research, planning, shooting, editing, publicity, additional fund
raising, etc.

We shoot mainly in the Bay Area to keep costs down but have traveled out of town
if the story takes us there.  Our film falls in the category of a docudrama. 
You could compare it to a Michael Moore film.  We deal with a social phenomenon
that everyone can relate to.

We interview experts, celebrities, social justice advocates and many others that
have knowledge of our topic.  We put it together with historical footage and
music and narrative.  We have about 200 hours of filming planned.

We are looking for dedicated individuals that want to be part of the film
process.  You want to make a difference.  Film has that capability.  We have a
story to follow.  We have a story to tell.

If this interests you, we would like to talk to you.  We go through a "hiring"
process like any successful endeavor.  The first thing we look at is

wedding planner has designed bridesmaid dresses from Hell and the town matriarch
has just died with no place to put her coffin but the room where the wedding
party is dressing. And, that's just the beginning!"

We will start the class with a lecture and discussion about auditioning. Class

Each actor will g et a 15-minute slot and walk into a "callback". In that slot,
you are to prepare a five-minute audition piece. No monologues. Choose a scene
with a character that you are right for -- from any medium -- play, TV or film.
Treat this like a real acting audition and DO NOT choose material you have
performed before. And PREPARE! I will give you guidance, adjustments, direction
and help you become a stronger auditioner, to get rid of nerves, to walk in with
confidence, to be special and stand out and most importantly, to book the job.
You will audition solo, but your classmates will be observing. The other
character(s) in the scene will be read by our mock "casting director" Jason
Dottley who stars as "Ty" in Sordid Lives: The Series. And yes, you may use my

Volunteer for the 52nd San Francisco International Film Festival
(April 23 – May 7)

The 52nd San Francisco International Film Festival, presented by the
San Francisco Film Society, is fast approaching and we are looking for
dependable Volunteers to work important pre-festival shifts primarily
at our Presidio Offices. During the Festival, volunteers will be
needed at The Clay, The Castro and Sundance Kabuki Cinemas, as well as
Festival special events at various locations.

All volunteers are scheduled by using the SFFS Volunteer Shiftboard.

Pre-Festival shifts will begin in March and continue until Opening
Night of the Festival. Register with us and check out our upcoming
