I've gotten a lot of email from actors, asking me why
I created You Must Act!, Nail It! & Headshot Secrets
Revealed.

Here are the simple answers:

First, because I could not find anything like them when
I was starting my acting career almost 50 years ago.

And, as it turns out, there's still a gap in this area.

I have always assumed someone would come along and
write down the information. But every time I checked,
I found that this kind of 'insider' info (which I knew
was necessary to a successful acting career) had still
not been gathered into a course of study for actors.

So I thought I'd give it a try.

As you probably already know, I'm fairly proud of the
finished products. Luckily, it's not just my opinion ...
here's what my friend Rene Auberjonois (Tony Winner
and TV Star) wrote to me a while back:

"You may not believe this (I'm amazed at myself) I've
just spent the last few hours at my copmputer reading
You Must Act! I confess I'm a bit bleary-eyed, but I
couldn't put it down ... er ... I mean I couldn't stop
'clicking' and scrolling. What an achievement. What a
gold mine of essential information and simple wisdom.
Bravo. ... your clear-headed and positive take on how
to go about DOING IT is just invaluable. This is the
kind of stuff I wish had been available in one package
when I was stumbling around trying to get started Again,
bravo." - Rene Auberjonois (Star Trek, M*A*S*H, Boston
Legal. The Patriot, Eyes Of Laura Mars, and more.)

It's nice to hear that from someone who KNOWS what it
takes to be a successful actor.

Here's another letter that warms my heart:

"Thank you so much for your helpful posts and the very
rich content in You Must Act! In all the classes and
seminars I have taken to learn 'the business of the
business,' I never learned the RIGHT answer to the
question, 'tell me about yourself. I'm also stunned
that I never knew such a simple key to make my film
work and headshots 'grab' the viewer's eyes. These
two pieces of information alone are more than worth
the purchase price. ... the most practical and useful
manual on show BUSINESS I have ever read. It goes
beyond tips and 'to-dos' and actually starts reshaping
the character of the reader - to become the kind of
person who will be successful at whatever they
undertake." ~ Ellen Seltz

UPDATE from Ellen:

"... I just booked my first Equity contract, and will
be reprising my critically-acclaimed role of "Edith
Stein" (which I had previously done as a New York
showcase) for a 600 seat house - and a nice fat
paycheck!"

These two letters, and 100's of others like them, are
the reason I created my acing career courses. It's a
real kick to see this kind of mail showing up in my
inbox every day.

So, if your career is just getting started, or even if
you've been at it for awhile and your results have been
less than you expected - I hope you'll take some time
