Hello fellow MASSers - it's been awhile and I hope all of you are well.
If you are serious about writing a great script, then you must read
and study other scripts.
I have 2 copies of Scenario - a thick Screenwriting Magazine with
complete screenplays, available for $40.
These are really nice magazines that are likely out of print, and
feature exclusive "how I did it" interviews with writers and directors
who have won awards or scholarships at Sundance.
Before buying this pricey magazine, I tried to find a cheaper source
of these informational interviews and screenplays but at that time I
could not find it elsewhere, and I doubt it exists today (if you can
verifiably find readily available cheaper copies of this magazine
elsewhere, notify me and I will lower my asking price). These
magazines are perfect for a film artists, film buff, or screenwriter's
collection. Technically it is titled
Scenario "The Magazine of Screenwriting Art"
The cover price is $20, I have 2 different copies. I will only sell
them as a set. Due to their rare nature, and possible collector's
value, I am firm on the price.
Vol. 5, No. 3 includes interviews and complete screenplays by / of:
(nicknamed the "Comedy Issue")
Being John Malkovich by Charlie Kaufman
Bowfinger by Steve Martin
Midnight Run by George Gallo
Vol. 5, No. 4 includes interviews and complete screenplays by / of:
Rosemary's Baby by Roman Polanski
American Psycho by Mary Harron & Guinevere Turner
The Sixth Sense by M. Night Shyamalan
BONUS: FOR NO ADDITIONAL COST, I WILL INCLUDE COPIES OF SEVERAL
SCREENPLAYS INCLUDING:
The Usual Suspects
Midnight Cowboy
Good Will Hunting
Pulp Fiction
Falling Down
and a few more goodies.
This collection of scripts and interviews with their writers /
directors / creators comprises just about enough material for a new
screenwriter to study to get an organic feel for the medium before
starting their next screenplay. Or, if you are in the midst of a
screenplay, you may find some inspiring devices from the masters.
If you are serious, please call 346-9682with a time you may be able to
stop by the NOPA (near Baker and Grove) to see and buy these great
magazines.
