[UPDATED JUNE '02] The purpose of this e-mail discussion list is for participants/members in the San Francisco Movie Artists Social Support group to be able to connect with other members, to query, to seek support, to ask for help, to announce new projects and events. The topics should all be somehow related to multimedia and/or film-related activities (whether film, video, acting, editing, production, writing, criticism, film screenings and festivals, WWW projects, and such). Please keep this a SPAM-free, friendly environment.

MASS used to sponsor a monthly meeting for people who would like to be involved in the movie industry (e.g. - emerging actors, writers, musicians, etc.) -- engaging in exercises to hone skills required to be successful in the industry and in life. These exercises included "Elevator Speeches," "Jams," and "Show & Tell" (sometimes we replace exercises with Guest Speakers).HOWEVER, this has been at least temporarily put on hold as our fearless leader has moved on to other pursuits. We are currently seeking a new "President" (or 3) to arrange for monthly meetings. Until then we will simply remain a listserv and filmmaker resource, and a darned useful one at that.

First timers are welcome to post an introductory message to the list, telling folks who they are and what they are looking for in the film world. Feel free to upload to the yahoo groups site any files you wish to give people further insight into you the artist (e.g. - a headshot; a resume; a script; a demo reel; a Web site.). Thanks!
