Friends turning foes!

By Moviebuzz | Friday, 09 March , 2007, 10:06

Famous friendships in Kollywood have been turning sour off late! It is the result of intense competition, plain jealousy and some pettiness. Please note, in film industry there are no permanent friends or enemies, only box-office matters!
Listed below are some friends who have turned enemies' recently-
Ace director Selvaraghavan's shadow used to be his favourite cameraman Aravind Krishna. Along with Yuvan Shankar Raja they had formed a company called `White Elephants` and were to make Karthi- Sandhya film Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam (IMNM). Suddenly during the shoot of his Telugu film , Selva who did not like Aravind doing Gautham Menon’s Pachaikili Muthucharam shouted at him in front of the whole unit. Normally a cool Aravind who was Selva's "Best Man" at his wedding, walked out of the film and the friends have now become bitter enemies! The latest we hear is that IMNM will have Ramji as cameraman. As an industry wag commented- "White elephant has lost its trunk"!
Yuvan who was a part of Vishal's success story, by providing hit music for Sanda Kozhi and Thimiru got the boot from the Reddy brothers and their GK Corporation. The Reddy's have now roped in Harris Jayaraj for their new film Sathyam. They had worked earlier in Chellamay. It is purely a commercial decision as Thamarabharani music failed. A peeved Yuvan feels that there were hit numbers like Thaliyei thevai illai neethan…., and it was the content which was bad!
Gautham Menon struck a nice rapport with Sarath Kumar, during the making of Pachaikili Muthucharam. In fact Sarath wanted to produce a film with Gautham as the director. Now the latest we hear is that they no longer have the same vibes, after the films rather cold reception at the box-office. In private, Gautham is alleged to have said that a Maddy or Kamal would have saved the film. Sarath the gentleman that he is, has enough reasons to be upset as his face was taken off from new posters of the film after the release. It is Jo's cruel look that was plastered all over the walls in the city!!
Another friendship that has turned sour is between ‘Tirupati brothers’ Lingusamy's and his brother Bose and director Ezhil who had made that damp squib Deepavali. At a recent audio launch, Lingu went out off his way to talk about "directors who promise a lot, when they narrate a script and end up with half-baked product on the big screen!" Remember Lingu was all praise before the release about Ezhil, but the moment the movie bombed, the director was blamed for the fiasco!
Similarly for the last two years Ameer has been having a running battle with Surya and his brother Karthi, mainly over money matters. Now that Paruthiveeran is a big hit, both are vying with each other to take credit for it! They are also holding separate press conferences, to put across their different perspective on the film. While ‘Studio Green’ tries to play down the controversial rape scene in the film, Ameer is candid and justifies it!
The most famous friendship between two leading ladies, Trisha and Shriya is also under strain. They hit off well, when they used to party together and freak out in Hyderabad which is a great place to have a ball. At that time Trisha used to be the queen bee of Telugu films, while Shriya was just another North Indian girl struggling to survive in Tollywood. Now things have taken a U-turn, after Shriya signed Sivaji with the superstar Rajnikanth. The red carpet was rolled out for Shriya in Kollywood, and Trisha's favourite heroes Vijay and Vikram too signed up films with the hot and happening actress. The grapevine has it that the friendship is in the freezer, and the cooling off period has begun.
Moral of the story- No two persons can be friends for long in show business, which is a dog eats dog race!

*** I DONT REALLY BELIEVE ALOF OF WHAT THIS NEWS IS SAYIN.. BUT JUST WANTED TO POST IT ANYWAYS..

CAZ TRISHA AND SHREYA HAVE BOTH ALREADY SAID SOO MANY TIMES THEY R BEST OF FRIENDS.. AND I DOUBT THAT WHOLE SARATH AND GAUTAM THING IS EVEN TRUE HE JUST DID A INTERVIEW WIT SIFY.. SO YA.... I DUNO WAT SIFY IS TRYIN TO DO
