...and rolling in his grave  :-)

Funny, I find that when I have multiple projects in development, I sure as hell don't have time to give coverage and notes on even friends scripts. Since I'm only writing for a webisodic show at present, I'd be willing to give coverage for the standard, industry rate $75 (or $100 with notes).

In all seriousness fellow scribes, if you submit a query letter to any production company, and they want to read the script, it will be put through coverage internally. Now you might not get a copy of that coverage (unless you have an inside), but the ideal copy you should try to obtain is from a "mini-major", "major" or top agency (IE; ICM, Gersh, Endeavor, etc.). The rest of them might as well be done by yourself with a fictitious name.

That being said, if you need notes from a fellow writer who IS getting produced (and of course still alive), let me know and we'll work something out.

Keep on truckin'!

Shaun Ingram
p.s.- Peter, if you are for real, but just don't have any press, no offense. I just hate seeing my struggling colleagues get conned.

Are you wondering if your script is ready to go out to producers,
directors and stars?

Do you want to take your script to the next level, sell it quickly
and have it get made?

Do you know whether the script is ready for the marketplace, or what
to fix in the rewrite?

After examining your script's premise, tone, character development,
dialogue, plotting, structure, rhythm, pacing, format, and overall
marketability, Peter Myers will give you a spot-on, extensive
write-up showing which areas need work --- to give you a better shot
at selling it! Peter's fee to do this is $250.00 US.

Peter has done this for indie production companies in which he was a
partner, and he became very sharp at it!

Peter has sold, written for hire, or optioned ten feature scripts and
has had a number of things produced for the media of syndicated
television and cable. In 2005, a script of his won an Honorable
Mention in the script competition at the Thunderbird Int'l Film
Festival. Five projects of his are on the production slates of four
Independent production companies in Southern California.

In 2009, he may be writing a script for 2006 Oscar/Golden Globe
nominee, actor Terrence Howard – who asked him to work on a project.
Peter has also developed a script with Best Picture Oscar-winning
producer, Fred Roos.

Peter has produced short films and is producing one of his own
theatrical feature scripts in 2009 on a $5 million dollar budget,
so he analyzes scripts from the viewpoints of both a writer and a
producer. He is also co-producing a six- to eight-million dollar
picture with a fellow producer, for whom he polished the script
in 2008.

NEWS FOR 2009: This year, two feature films have been shot
(one in Los Angeles and one in Alaska), which were based on scripts
rewritten according to Peter's analyses. Both of them are now in
post-production. Peter's advice to screenwriters is part of an
anthology of practical exercises "Now Write! Screenwriting", due in
bookstores soon.

You can reach Peter at 323-821-7349, 323-464-8537 or email him at
peterdavidmyers@....

If you want to read testimonials from Peter's screenwriter clients
(or more information about Peter's background and his script analysis
service), go to the link below, then scroll to see "Comments", such
as: "I incorporated many of your well thought-out notes and, as a
result, I'm having unprecedented success," --- Dirk L.; "Thank you so
much for giving my script a new lease on life." --- Phoenix; or "You
are truly a master at what you do," --- Penny L.

WHAT NOT TO DO IN A SCREENPLAY
IF YOU WANT IT TO SELL

Writer/producer and script consultant, Peter Myers,
shares the most common mistakes screenwriters make which lessen a script's
chances of getting a greenlight

A free talk on
November 17, 7:00 p.m. (free parking on premises)

At Author Services, 7051
Hollywood Boulevard (at Sycamore), L.A. CA 90028

In recent years, in addition to his writing and producing, Peter Myers
has analyzed over eighty screenplays for writers, producers and directors.
Two feature films (one in L.A., and one in Alaska) were shot in 2009,
using scripts rewritten according to Peter's analyses, with a third
scheduled for later in 2009, and a fourth scheduled for 2010 at England's
famous Pinewood Studios. Peter's p ractical advice to writers will appear
in "Now Write! Screenwriting," due in bookstores soon.

Peter sees the same flaws in most scripts he analyzes: Errors in
premise, theme, tone, character development, dialogue, plotting,
structure, rhythm, pacing, format or marketability. Due, partly, to the
stiff competition, these mistakes can sabotage a sale. Peter goes over
them in detail.

Peter has been hired to write, rewrite, or has optioned, over ten feature
scripts and has had material produced for the media of syndicated
television and cable. One of his scripts won an Honorable Mention in the
script competition at the Thunderbird Int'l Film Festival. Peter
developed a script for a Best Picture Oscar-winning producer which (as a
$50-$75 million movie), went into the packaging stage at the prestigious
William Morris Agency.

As either writer or producer, Peter currently has five pro jects on
the development/production slates of four independent film companies in
Southern California. Three of his projects are part of a five-picture,
$240 million film slate which he created with producer Karen Kramer, widow
of the great producer/director, Stanley Kramer.

ScriptDC - Open to all - October 15-18, 2009 in Washington, DC

Most people think it is impossible to have a career as a screenwriter living anywhere but LA and NY. Well? Guess what? Yes we can!

WIFV is working to challenge that out-dated belief by bringing the best teachers and industry professionals to DC in mid-October. This year we are partnering with the DC Shorts Festival, The Actor’s Center and TIVA-DC to expand offerings, partnerships, and fun!

Screenwriters Megan Holley, "Sunshine Cleaning", and Jeff Porro, "The Great Debaters", will be joining other invited local and national industry professionals to ensure that all participants gain the skills, knowledge and connections they need to be successful. Workshops will demonstrate how to network, how to pitch your work and how to finance film projects in addition to offering the unique opportunity to have the opening of scripts critiqued by producers.

DCScript Writing Weekend - Day of Workshops
