With awards season officially upon us, some moviegoers have bemoaned
the absence of one name from all the acting nominees announced so far:
Gordon Pinsent, for his poignant turn in Sarah Polley's critically
acclaimed Away From Her.

Pinsent, however, is taking comfort in a message sent his way by
Daniel Day-Lewis, the man considered a shoo-in for Best Actor glory
this year for his own role in There Will Be Blood.

"I got a wonderful message passed on to me through Sarah Polley by
Daniel Day-Lewis, and he said: `It's one of the best performances I
have seen and I am totally in awe of him,'" Pinsent, 77, said Friday.
