Hey!
I've figured out a way to make an emitter that looks almost like the
emitter on the graflex. It does not have the little "ears" sticking
out of the shroud like a real graphlex(but hey! its a custom job
anyway) The way I did it is I took a 1/2 PVC Coupling and cut up a
pepsi can. I covered about half of the coupling with the can and left
some excess at the opening. I epoxied the can to coupling then cut
the can so that you can fold the excess down into the coupling and of
course epoxied that down also. I sanded the exposed part of the can
so that it had the same finish as the rest of the hilt. I found out
that you can easily put a dowel(sp?) rod in it and it could be
secured very easily.
Anyway... I'm now working on a way to secure newly made emitter into
lightsaber. The why I have it right now I put a PVC end cap on it
(after cutting it so that it would expand around the coupling) and I
have to shove it in and it doesn't hold very well. I was thinking of
putting screws in the 10, 2, and 6 o'clock positions but, I'm not
sure how I can make it look good and also what kind of screw to use
to go through the metal of the pipe.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do to secure the emitter
in place? It looks pretty good, I just need to get it really secure
so that I can eventually put dowel rods or some other blade in and
actually be able to duel with it.
Thank you,
Nick
