to seal the ends try going to a hardware store and find something
like a showerhead or sink knob as end peices. you can also try using
pvc pipe endcaps to close the pommel end. uhh, to make it not look
like ypu stuck a pvc endcap on try grinding it down to a different
shape and sand it smooth for painting.
