Hey, here's film about a rock and roll camp for girls. i quote form
the website.
"The finished movie focuses on Laura, an articulate Korean adoptee
obsessed with death metal; Misty, who is emerging from a life of
meth-addiction, homelessness and gang activity; Palace, a
sweet-seeming 8-year-old with a heavy metal sneer, and Amelia, who's
writing a 14-song cycle about her dog Pippi. Forming bands, writing
songs and playing a gig in one week, these girls and the rest of the
camp engage in an experiment in empowerment that will leave no-one
unchanged."
I haven't watched it yet tho i'd love to!here's the link.

First off wicked group!! i just recently realized there very few
metal bands i know that have women in em which made me wonder why? So
i guess through this group i can get to find out alot more all women
metal bands!! plus other issues of course:-) ok so to answer some of
them questions.
What challenges do you face as a Kenyan "rock chick"?
Well a couple, there's this mentallity guys have that females can't
handle hardcore music, which can be pretty annoying coz its not about
females not handling it, its about what speaks to u. so if i feel it
dies today speaks to me i listen to em. plus anyways i know a few
guys who can't handle some of these hardcore bands. So that mentality
should die.
What does your family think of the music you listen
to?
Well my family's pretty ok with what i listen to, my folks think its
noise but just as long as i don't play it too loud when they're
around, its fine by them. My sisters listen to it a bit, but just soft
rock, to them metal is noise, period.
Do they even know you like rock?:-)
lol, yes they do. its the only thing i play.lol.
hope that about covers it. I pose the same questions to u:-)
