I have posted clips of Dana in the files section.

They are the semi-nude clips of her work made before she died.

No... disrespect is meant to Dana's family,friends and fans, I am
attempting to show Dana's life at the end and perhaps help understand
her loss and confusion.

Dana was supposed to have a problem with sleeping pills, ??..

Sleeping pills come in two types, Barbituritic and non-Barbituritic
hypnotics and sedatives,
The Barbs ARE ADDICTIVE and very bad as they must not be given to
persons in psychological emotional distress.

They remove a lot of the cognitive/judgement resources available to
the taker and can make you totally isolated from the world, without
being aware (it is very sad).

The alledged statements that Dana was going to become a lesbian(?)
reflect on her recent breakup,financial problems,legal worries and
lesbian role in the mockingly titled film "different strokes" which
was a sad attempt to escape and perhaps an unfortunate introduction
lesbian sensitivities.

I offer good thoughts of Dana and hope they reach her.

Hi Linda,
The show was called Tropical Heat. It was at the Rio Hotel. It wasn't
all that brief. It went on for quite a while. Unless maybe what
you're asking about is the job she held at Caesas Palace. She sold
clothing there. That didn't last for very long. I used to know the
name of the apartments but I've forgotten. If I remember I'll post
it. I hope you enjoy your visit in Las Vegas.

Hello Group.  Hope all of your are doing gr8.  I recently was
contacted by someone named Lambert Von Grey who told me he had a copy
of the video The Hostage and that I could have it for $50.00   This
is a lot of money, but I really wanted it so I sent him a money order
for $50.00  I had a bad feeling the moment I could not get a
confirmation number or insurance number from him for shipment of the
video.  I never received it.  He refuses to make good on this sale.
He says I probably really got it delivered and just want to get
another copy from him.  I never asked for my money back, I just
wanted the movie.  Anyway, thought I would let every one know what
happened to me with this person.  This seller actually has excellent
feedback with eBay, but he sure has taken me for my money.  I am very
disappointed and there is nothing I know of that I can do to get him
to honor this transaction since it was not thru any group like eBay
or Amazon.  If this person contacts you about this movie for sale you
may want to think of what he did to me before sending him any money.
This may have actually been a postal error, but he never told me the
fifty dollars did not include 40 cents for delivery confirmation or
the dollar and thirty cents for insurance, and since I did not have
this option offered to me I think it is very suspicous that I never
received it at all, and he is claiming that I am the one who is a
crook.  Just wanted to share this with all of you.  I hope this never

I believe there are a couple of reasons so many of us connected with
Dana. Granted we all grew up with her on television. At the same
time, however, we got to experience her "human" side later in her
life as she struggled to find her way in a world that had passed her
by. Dana Plato always came across to me as a real person as oppossed
to a celebrity. I met her in Las Vegas, played video poker at the
same dives, and shared a few drinks with her. Her overdose was even
more tragic when you consider she has since received more love then
she ever got when she was alive. Dana was a tortured
soul....controlled by a career founded in the past and a future
clouded by fear, addiction, and lonliness. Her final curtain call was
in the tradition of other sad hollywood endings.....She will be

at when she was young and happy. (preferably in the LA area). I know
she attended John J.Sutter high school, but I'm also looking to see
where she used to ice skate and ride horsback. I'd really appreciate
any info on places she spent a lot of time or things she used to enjoy

I am still looking for a copy of the Dana Plato movie "The Hostage".
Earlier in the year I was contacted by a man named Lambert Von Grey
who lives in Virginia who said he had purchased a screener and would
sell it to me for $50.00  I sent him the money but he never received
it.  Lambert told me that he sent it, and if it did not reach me than
it is my problem, and not to bother him again.  I have tried
everything to get this movie, but am having no luck. There must be
one fan of hers in this group that recorded it from their television.
Please, do something nice and share it with me.

Race.....any way you say it, IT SMELLED!

Anyway...I just wanted to let Dana's fans know that I worked closely
with her for 5 weeks and she was as sweet as she could be.  The main
thought on her mind was her son, and her professionalism really
belied the horrible project she was working on.  We had a lot of fun.
I noticed that she was a bit high strung at times, but she surprised
us with her good nature and her talent.

Hope she's happy wherever she is.

Peacock stokes 'Strokes'
Inside look at 'Mork,' 'Shirley,' 'Bewitched' also planned

Whatchoo talkin' about, NBC?

As part of its "Behind the Camera" franchise, Peacock is developing a
two-hour look at the drama surrounding the hit '80s NBC sitcom, "Diff'rent
Strokes." Greg Pincus is writing a script for the project, which is one of
several TV tales in the works at NBC.

NBC is also in early development on telepics focusing on the
behind-the-scenes drama of ABC hits "Mork & Mindy," "Laverne & Shirley" and
"Bewitched." NBC has previously produced telepics on ABC hits "Three's
Company" and "Charlie's Angels."

"The franchise has performed quite well for us," said NBC longform topper
Jeff Gaspin, who also heads alternative programming at NBC and is prexy of
Bravo. Most recent "Charlie's Angel" pic was just so-so in raw numbers,
"but when we got in the upscale demos for 'Angels,' it was off the chart,"
Gaspin added.

Gary Coleman and Todd Bridges have signed on as consultants on the
"Diff'rent Strokes" telefilm, which Gaspin said will tread cautiously when
dealing with many of the tragic events surrounding the sitcom -- including
the death of star Dana Plato.

"If you get it right, this is a cautionary tale about kids in Hollywood,"
he said. "We need to do it in a non-exploitative manner."

Diff'rent Strokes - Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis? We're gonna be on DVD?

That's right, Diff'rent Strokes is headed to DVD. Columbia TriStar is set
to release the first season of the show on September 14th. Please keep in
mind that this hasn't been officially announced and that date may change.
We don't have any information about bonus material at this time.

The show broadcast 189 episodes over 8 seasons.

I don't know you guys, but I used to watch the TV show only to see
that cute freckeld nose! I remember feeling sad when she did not
show up. Sometimes her appearances were way short!

This girl was the most beautiful teenager in the 80's and I wil
always remember her like that!

If anyone has the movie The Hostage on video or disc please contact
me directly at garyoperator@...  ASAP.  This movie stars
Dana Plato and has an appearance by Cynthia Rothrock.  I have never
seen this movie and would love to get to see it for my first time.  I
thought I was going to finally see it when I was contacted by a Dr.
Lambert von Grey from Virginia, but after he said I would have to
send him 50 dollars for the video, he cashed my check but never sent
the video.  He refuses to send it. I think I was actually swindled by
this man.  I tried everything from contacting the Virginia Consumer
Affairs to make complaints against him to the Better Business Bureu,
the fraud division of the post office, etc, but have had no luck
either getting him to send me my video or to send my money back.
Anyway, I would love to see Dana in this for the first time along
with seeing Dana and Cynthia together.  Hope to hear from someone
with some good news for me.

I just got back from a fun vacation in Gulf Breeze, FL. (pan handle)
On the last day, I asked my friend Jeri to drive us out to Navarre
Beach to do some sunning and to locate the campground Dana stayed at
for a while in her RV.  We found two.  One was Navarre Beach RV park
and the other Emerald Waters RV park.

Does anyone know which one Dana stayed at?  How long she stayed or
any memories of her times there?  It would be so much appreciated!

Greetings to All! I knew Dana Plato when she was living in Las
Vegas, Nevada. She had a lot of difficulties here. Some of the things
about her that have been written are true. However, a LOT of other
things are NOT true. It is TRUE, that she was depressed and took a
lot of medications. At one point she didn't really know what she was
doing. That led to several arrests, ALL DRUG INVOLVED.
   The authorities here should have done better for her. Well, as it
turns out, they didn't. The press had a field day at her expense. A
lot of newpapers were sold. The TV newscast had plenty of filler on a
slow news day.
    If there is any one person who is responsible for putting her over
the edge into suicide, his name is Howard Stern. Just a day before
she killed herself she appeared on his radio show in New York City,
and he set her up to be completely castigated on-air. Needless to
say, she was devastated by his cruel comments and those of his so-
called "fans" who always agree with him, no matter what outrageous
things he says are does. It is a shame that she didn't leave a note
blaming him, as he so richly deserves the blame for the damage that
he intentionally inflicted. Those of us who know the real story can
take satisfiaction in the course of bad events for him by the FCC and
responsible broadcasters. He has no credibility with the mass of the
American people, no matter what he claims or believes.
