Hi everyone,
I saw the lovely Re when she did a concert in London back in the early
90s. It was the day i got my exam results, i was 16 years old i think.
The concert was huge and Salman and Aamir Khan were also making an
appearance. It was called 'Rekha's Nite' at Earls Court, London. I was
in the mid section of the hall and when Re came out after about an
hour everyone went crazy. I, of course only went to see her...She came
out in a lovely outfit gold, and a dark marron colour i think, with
the now infamous Umrao Jaan ghazal 'In akhoon ki masti ke'. Everyone
was going mental flashing their cameras away at her....it was
blinding. She looked fabulous and danced very well. She actually
sang 'Salam - e- Ishq' and 'Tauba Tauba Kya Hoga' and her voice was
awesome. Alot of the concert is a blur now but those moments of Re
still stand out...still after all this time, they'll stay with me for
ages yet. All i wanted to do was go up to her and say hello and give
her a massive hug, perhaps talk to her for a bit....ah the dream goes
on.
