REEL WRITERS, LOS ANGELES

This private group meets in the Los Angeles area (Santa Clarita, Pasadena, Simi Valley, Burbank, etc), once every two months or so. Our meetings may run as long as four hours. During this time, we do a cold reading of a member's screenplay, then discuss it and offer feedback. This allows us to experience an audience reaction and refine our work, without having to take home a stack of scenes to critique, or sit through lectures/classes (most of us have already been through screenplay classes). We won't allow personal attacks, but honest criticism is encouraged.

Members of Reel Writers also brainstorm concepts and loglines with each other, share industry information, and attend WGA events and similar activities. The goal of the group is to share networking opportunities and build friendly support among ambitious screenwriters.
