Thanks mpmpress for the great news! I found this description as well:
Cinema Confidential reports that Ed Burns [“15 Minutes”, “She’s The One”] is
eyeing a game of ball. According to the site, Burns is set to star in an
untitled football drama from first time writer Brad Sohn, who may direct the
project as well. The film will be produced by Aaron Lubin and Marlboro Rd.
Productions. The story centers around Cam Stonehouse, a one-time Super Bowl
MVP, who leaves the NFL to disappear in rural North Carolina. Years later,
he’s “rediscovered” at a local high school football game, and coaxed out of
retirement. He joins a semi-pro team called The Townies before once again
trying to lead the NFL New England Patriots back to the Super Bowl.” Can't
wait to see our man!!
