I know! It's so sad... :) I liked him as an actor too. He did a few movies
after Goonies though--like "Rudy" and "Memphis Belle"--I love the latter; it's
got a *great* cast {i.e. Eric Stoltz (swoon--sorry, I have a weakness for red
hair, hence my fiance!!); Tate Donovan; D.B. Sweeney; Matthew Modine; Billy Zane
(hey, for those of you who have seen the Pocahantas sequel, he sings in it!
He's also of "Titanic" fame); Harry Connick, Jr.; Courtney Gains; and John
Lithgow--talk about star studded!} But it's a very well done and a poignant
movie in my opinion (anyone seen it?)
Sorry to go on and on like that (obviously I have seen a lot of movies--I love
watching (and sometimes obsessing over) them.
Anyway, I'll go now!

Not to start an arguement, but I don't think he was
famous until Titanic--some recognition for Romeo and
Juliet, but not famous. Except he had recognition
for Gilbert and Basketball Diaries as an exceptional
actor. Since then I believe he has only been in one
movie, the Woody Allen one where he plays a spoiled
movie star, again trying to destroy his own hype.

I'm glad there's someone who has to go through what I do! Leo is a good actor,
and whenever I say that to anyone they automatically assume (especially since
I'm teenage girl) that i'm obsessed with him!

won't really get into the contest now. We'll wait till the current one is
over with, then wait a little bit longer, then do it.

I guess I am silly, then. Though I don't think he has NO talent, but I don't
think he has much. Seems to me he relies more on his fame to get him by in
movies than any talent he may or may not have. Jen
Have you seen "Gilbert Grape?" If not, that movie may change your mind. You
might not even recognize him. He was actually nominated for an Academy Award
for that role as best supporting actor, but he lost to Tommy Lee Jones for
"Fugitive". Check it out if you haven't seen it! I'm not an adoring Leo fan
either (and I thought "Titanic" was only okay) but there are some movies that he
really is amazing in.

Yes, you were right at the end of your message, it was Corey Feldman.
And I just wanted to add my comments on the Leo issue. I am so happy
to find other people that actually admire him for his acting. I've
always thought that he was a wonderful actor since I saw him in
Growing Pains (my favorite show growing up) and What's Eating Gilbert
Grape. I've seen nearly all of his movies just because I like his
acting. But no one ever believes me when I tell them that. They think

This was sent to me by one of the members of my medieval/Renaissance club. I
thought it was too funny NOT to share! Enjoy!
THE WARNING SIGNS OF INSANITY
Your friends tell you that you have been acting strange lately, and then you
hit them several times with a sledgehammer.
Everyone you meet appears to have tentacles growing out of places that you
wouldn't expect tentacles to be growing from.
You start out each morning with a 30-minute jog around the bathroom.
You write to your grandmother in Germany every week, even though she sends you
mail from Iowa asking why you never write.
Every time you see a street sign, you have a tremendous urge to relieve
yourself on it.
You wear boxers on your head because you heard it will ward off evil dandruff
spirits.
You're always having to apologize to your next door neighbor for setting fire
to his lawn decorations.
Every commercial you hear on the radio reminds you of death.
People stay away from you whenever they hear you howl.
You laugh out loud during funerals.
When your doctor tells you to say ah, you yell out "RAPE! RAPE!"
Nobody listens to you anymore, because they can't understand you through that
scuba mask.
You begin to stop and consider all of the blades of grass you've stepped on as
a child, and worry that their ancestors are going to one day seek revenge.
You have meaningful conversations with your toaster.
Your father pretends you don't exist, just to play along with your little
illusion.
You collect dead windowsill flies.
Every time the phone rings, you shout, "Hey! An angel just got its wings!"
You like cats. Especially with mayo.
You scream "I've got a knife!" to people who try to sell you things.
You scream "I've got a knife!" to people at your family reunion.
You cry at the end of every episode of Gilligan's Island, because they weren't
rescued.
You put tennis balls in the microwave to see if they'll hatch.
Whenever you listen to the radio, the music sounds backwards.
You have a predominant fear of fabric softener.
You wake up each morning and find yourself sitting on your head in the middle
of your front lawn.
Your dentist asks you why each individual tooth has your name etched on it,
and you say its for security reasons.
Melba toast excites you.
When the waiter asks for your order, you ask to go into another room because
"the napkins have ears."
You tend to agree with everything your mother's dead uncle tells you.
Every time you see the commercial for Hair Club for Men, you think to
yourself, "I think I'll kill the Pope today."
You call up random people and ask if you can borrow their dog, just for a few
minutes.
Your main goal in life is to become the president of Bulemia.
Nearly everything you say involves the word "P-toing!"
You argue about which is better, to be eaten by a koala or to be loved by an
infectious disease.
You like to sit in cornfields for prolonged periods of time, and pretend that
you're a stalk.
You think that exploding wouldn't be so bad, once you got used to it.
You try to make a list of the Warning Signs of Insanity. (cough)
People offer you help, but you unfortunately interpret this as a violation of
your rights as a boysenberry.

> I completely agree, there are alot of people that

Anyone who says that is silly. It's too bad Leo has
become such a hearthrob because he is ridiculously
talented. He brings heart and soul into every role
he performs. You can see he is being very care3ful
about his next role--I think he wants to blow up his
pin-up image.
Unfortunately, he has also fallen into the trap of

Feldman.--Or is it Haim, the one who was in Stand By
Me, he could actually act. The other-not so much.
HI all,
I just thought I would send what information we have now about the next contest
and then hand the baton (hee hee) to Erin to take over (I like that other people
are volunteering to do them now--makes my life easier, J.K!) Anyway, our judges
will be Erin H (as she is the hostess), Melody, Laura, and Jen (I know I said
three before, but four is good too! I think that's enough though). Anyway,
somehow you judges have to discuss how you're going to judge. :) Then the rest
of the list can participate (if you want to) in the contest (which I will let
Erin describe). It probably won't be for a few weeks, but I thought I would let
you know it's coming (so you can be ready to put your thinking hats on).
Anyway, hope many will participate!
Happy Thursday!!
April :) (Next message about the contest will be from Erin H, sound good,
Erin?)

Well, I've been a fan of The Princess Bride for a long time. It's the only
book I really try to get everyone else to read. The movie's good, too,
although I think the book is 10 times better. I've never been a genius at
math, though, so don't take that number at face value.
Anyway, I'm glad to be on the list. After getting my copy of the 25th
Anniversary Edition, I feel like discussing something or whatever.

Hi Charles! Welcome to the list--we've been discussing all sorts of things--
just a bit ago we got onto a big discussion about the book, etc. but I think
we've been digressing lately (not that I mind, but just to let you know!) I'm
sure if you start a discussion on TPB many will join in as well! (I know I
will!)
Thanks for joining and introducing yourself!
