Portobello Film Festival Launch Party – Directions to The Venue   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #267 of 317 |

Hi,

I have emailed a confirmation to everyone who has asked to be on the
guest list for our Launch Party If you have asked to be on the guest
list and not had a confirmation email, please reply to this note. If
you would like to be on the guest list and haven't applied yet,
please reply by first thing on Wednesday.

Our 2008 Launch Party will take place at the Louise T Blouin
Institute, 3 Olaf Street London W11 4BE on Thursday 10th July from
7pm till 11pm. Our event is also part of the LTB Institute season of
late night summer art. The Institute is likely to have a signing in
book for all attendees. People will be invited to leave email
addresses to join the LTB Institute Mailing list.

I don't yet have details of the films that we will be showing. If
these become available before the event I will email them out.

DIRECTIONS TO THE LOUISE T BLOUIN INSTITUTE

BY TUBE

The easiest way to get to the venue is from Latimer Rd tube station
on the Hammersmith and City line. The venue is less than five minutes
walk from the Station.

Turn left from the station under the Railway Bridge and cross Bramley
Rd to get to the Station Tavern. Continue walking along Bramley Rd
and then into Freston Rd.

Olaf St is on the right hand side just after The People's Hall. The
Louise T Blouin Institute is the large building at the end of Olaf
St. Unless the weather is really bad the main door should be open
until fairly near the end of the event. Otherwise you may need to
press the buzzer.

Olaf St is reasonable walking distance from Ladbroke Grove, White
City, Shepherd's Bush and Holland Park Underground Stations.

BY BUS

The main local bus route is the 295 and the nearest bus stops are in
St Anne's road about two minutes away.

The 295 runs from Ladbroke Grove through Latimer Road and then on to
Shepherd's Bush, Hammersmith and Clapham Junction.

If you are coming from Ladbroke Grove get off at the second bus stop
after Latimer Rd tube. This is the stop just before Stoneleigh Place,
Cross St Ann's Road and walk back to the corner of St Anns Rd/Freston
Rd. Go round the corner into Freston Rd and Olaf St is about a
minute's walk on the right hand side.

If you are coming from Shepherd's Bush get off at the stop opposite
the Kenilworth Castle pub. Walk through the paved area till you are
opposite The People's Hall in Freston Rd. Olaf St is just to the left
of The People's Hall.

The following bus routes are less than 10 minutes walk away. 23, 31,
49, 94, 148.

BY CAR

There are a limited number of pay and display spaces located in the
local area. Some of these are free after 6.30pm. There is an NCP Car
Park located in the London West 12 Centre, 2 Charecroft Way,
Shepherd's Bush, W12 8PZ.(about 10 minutes walk)

THE LOUISE T BLOUIN INSTITUTE

The Institute consists of three large gallery spaces on the ground,
first and second floors. It is wheelchair friendly. There is a lift
as well as stairs to each floor with a disabled toilet on the ground
floor and toilet facilities on each of the floors. There will be a
pay bar open on the Ground Floor. I don't know if they will be
selling any bar snacks or other food.

OTHER FACILITIES IN FRESTONIA

The Louise T Blouin Institute is located within the historic
Independent State of Frestonia. To read more about Frestonia, please
follow the link below.

The Station Tavern, by Latimer Rd tube has a deserved reputation for
excellent food. The mixed meat platter is a particular favourite. If
you live locally and have further recommendations for places to eat
around Bramley Rd/St Anns Rd/Freston Rd please let me know and I will
pass them on.

For the evening we will be adopting the official Frestonian State
motto

Nos Sumus Una Familia - We are All One Family

Hope to see you Thursday

Geoff
