Subject: "Wobbler" Virus Warning
We have been informed of a new virus - WOBBLER. It will arrive on an e-mail
titled "How to Give a Cat a Colonic."CALIFORNIA IBM and AOL have announced
that it is very powerful, more so than Melissa. There is no remedy. It
will
eat all your information on the hard drive and also destroys Netscape
Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Do not open anything with this
title and please pass this message on to all your contacts and anyone who
uses your e-mail facility. Not many people seem to know about this yet so
propagate it as fast as possible. This information was announced yesterday
morning by IBM; please share it with everyone in your address book so that
the spreading of the virus may be stopped. This is a very dangerous virus
and
there is no remedy for it at this time. Please practice cautionary measures
and forward this to all your online friends A.S.A.P.

Hey everyone,
This virus warning is a hoax, guys. No need to get excited about it. It's
been around for quite awhile and every now and then pops up again as people
get nervous and start sending out warnings.
If anyone is concerned about virus warnings that they receive, PLEASE go to
http://www.kumite.com/myths/home.htm first, to make sure it's real first.
Believe me, I learned the hard way about this. I was sent an awesome game
from a trusted friend, that I downloaded and played daily. About a week
later, she sent me an urgent message to delete the whole thing because on
Christmas it would let loose a virus that would eat my hard drive. Not being
a computer whiz, I did exactly what the message said, then worried myself
sick that maybe I didn't do it right. Come to find out the next day that it
was all a load of bull****, and there was no virus at all, just a bunch of
people panicking about nothing. That's when I discovered the virus myth page
above. So if anyone is worried, please check it out.
Back to lurking.
