First off, let me say "thanks" for the picture. Not many take the time to do
that and post it here. Nice also to see some actual Pat activity, for a change.

Secondly, it would be more accurate to say these are "higher def" than your
previous caps, which were at 320x240, IIRC. And while the source channel may
have been a HiDef station, that doesn't mean everything they broadcast is HiDef,
and Home Improvement is NOT. It's simply scaled up from the original 480 line
master, and in this case isn't even as good as the DVDs... much less the
original C-band feeds I recorded a decade ago.

In the case of HI, there never can be a HiDef release, because they were
"filmed" on videotape. So the 480 scan-line masters is all they've got. If
they were actually filmed, the film could be scanned at HiDef for much better
quality than these.

Just wanted to set the record straight.
